We are looking for an experienced and strategic AI Director to join our executive leadership team. This is a unique opportunity to build and lead our AI function from the ground up. The AI Director will be responsible for defining and executing the company's AI vision and strategy, building a high-performing AI team, and overseeing the development and deployment of AI-driven solutions that align with our business objectives and client needs. You will be the champion for AI within the organization, driving innovation and ensuring ethical and effective implementation of AI technologies.

How will you make a difference

AI Strategy & Vision:

• Develop, articulate, and own the comprehensive AI strategy and roadmap for Leadtech, ensuring alignment with overall business goals and market opportunities.
• Identify and prioritize high-impact AI use cases across product development, service delivery, and internal operations.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in AI/ML research, technologies, and industry trends, evaluating their potential impact and application within the company.

Leadership & Team Building:

• Recruit, build, mentor, and lead a world-class team of AI researchers, data scientists, and ML engineers.
• Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, continuous learning, and technical excellence within the AI team and across the organization.
• Set clear goals, manage performance, and support the professional development of team members.

Execution & Delivery:

• Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of AI projects, from ideation, research, and prototyping to development, deployment, monitoring, and iteration.
• Establish best practices, standards, and processes for AI development, including data governance, model validation, MLOps, and responsible AI principles (fairness, transparency, accountability).
• Ensure the scalability, reliability, and performance of AI models and systems in production environments.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

• Partner closely with Product Management, Engineering, Sales, Marketing, and other departments to identify AI opportunities, define requirements, and integrate AI capabilities into our offerings.
• Collaborate with the executive team to communicate the AI strategy, progress, and potential business impact.
• Act as the primary AI subject matter expert for both internal stakeholders and external partners/clients when required.

Innovation & Research:

• Drive research and development efforts to explore novel AI techniques and technologies relevant to our domain.
• Encourage experimentation and proof-of-concept projects to validate new ideas.

Governance & Ethics:

• Establish and enforce ethical guidelines and governance frameworks for AI development and deployment, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and promoting responsible innovation.

• Advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.

• Minimum of [e.g., 8-10+] years of experience in the field of AI/ML, with a significant portion spent in hands-on development and deployment of machine learning models.
• Proven track record (minimum [e.g., 3-5+] years) of leading, managing, and mentoring AI/ML teams or significant projects.
• Deep technical expertise in core AI/ML concepts, including supervised/unsupervised learning, deep learning (CNNs, RNNs, Transformers), NLP, computer vision (as applicable), reinforcement learning, etc.
• Strong proficiency in relevant programming languages (primarily Python) and ML libraries/frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, Keras).
• Experience with data engineering, feature engineering, MLOps practices, and deploying models to production environments (cloud or on-premise).
• Demonstrated ability to translate complex business problems into AI-driven solutions and quantify their impact.
• Excellent strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.  
• Fluency in English; proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
