About Polygon Labs

Polygon Labs is a global blockchain payments company building and operating infrastructure to move money instantly, reliably, and at internet scale, with the mission to move all money onchain. It is building the Polygon Open Money Stack, an open and integrated stack of services and technologies to instantly and reliably move money anywhere, and put it to work. Its infrastructure has facilitated trillions of dollars in onchain value transfer and supported millions of transactions daily for some of the globe's largest banks, fintechs, enterprises, and consumer applications.

Your Role

Polygon is an AI-first company, and the AI Foundation team is where that commitment becomes reality. As the second member of this team, you will work directly alongside a staff-level engineer to design, build, and deploy AI tooling and infrastructure that accelerates productivity and AI adoption across the entire organization. This role exists because the demand for AI implementation has grown faster than a single person can handle, and the work is too important to slow down. You will own meaningful systems from day one, and your output will be felt across engineering, product, marketing, and operations.

Your Responsibilities
  • Design and build AI tooling onboarding systems that automatically configure and recommend the appropriate tools, workflows, and skill paths to individuals based on their role and use case, reducing time-to-productivity for new and existing team members

  • Develop and maintain the infrastructure that supports deployment, configuration, and operational scaling of AI tooling across the organization, ensuring reliability, resilience, telemetry coverage, and ease of adoption across teams

  • Build custom internal applications and harnesses around AI agents and tooling, integrating systems that span engineering and cross-functional teams including product, marketing, operations, legal, and compliance

  • Partner directly with engineering and cross-functional stakeholders to identify workflow bottlenecks, evaluate opportunities for AI-assisted automation, and design practical solutions that improve productivity and operational efficiency

  • Evaluate, research, integrate, and configure third-party AI tools (coding assistants, LLM orchestration frameworks, agent platforms, and others) to match organizational needs as the landscape evolves, helping teams adopt scalable and maintainable workflows rather than fragmented one-off solutions

  • Use Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, and other AI coding agents to produce well-structured, maintainable code at pace, while helping standardize and improve AI-assisted development workflows across engineering teams

What You'll Need
  • Demonstrated engineering experience building real systems: you have shipped working software and understand how to architect something maintainable, not just get it running

  • Strong consultative and problem-solving instincts: you can work directly with stakeholders to understand operational pain points, scope practical solutions, and translate ambiguous requirements into executable systems and workflows

  • Hands-on experience working with AI agents and LLM-based systems: you have built harnesses, integrations, or tooling on top of agent frameworks or LLM SDKs (such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, or similar) and understand how these systems behave in practice

  • Proven ability to work with AI coding agents (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, or equivalent) as a core part of your daily development workflow: daily AI-assisted coding is a baseline expectation for this role, not an occasional tool

  • Self-directed execution: you take a project brief, ask the right clarifying questions, and drive to delivery without needing constant direction; you communicate proactively and flag blockers early

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience building telemetry, observability, or monitoring into AI-powered systems to ensure resilience and measurable performance

  • Familiarity with crypto or blockchain infrastructure environments, or experience working at a fast-moving technology company where the tooling landscape changes frequently

  • Prior experience in a developer experience, platform engineering, or internal tooling role, particularly one where you were building for other engineers as your primary customer

What We Do

Polygon is the first well-structured, easy-to-use platform for Ethereum scaling and infrastructure development. Its core component is Polygon SDK, a modular, flexible framework that supports building multiple types of applications. Using Polygon, one can create Optimistic Rollup chains, ZK Rollup chains, stand alone chains or any other kind of infra required by the developer. Polygon effectively transforms Ethereum into a full-fledged multi-chain system (aka Internet of Blockchains). This multi-chain system is akin to other ones such as Polkadot, Cosmos, Avalanche etc with the advantages of Ethereum’s security, vibrant ecosystem and openness. With Polygon, new features are being built around the existing proven technology to expand the ability to cater to diverse needs from the developer ecosystem. Polygon will continue to develop the core technology so that it can scale to a larger ecosystem. The $MATIC token will continue to exist and will play an increasingly important role, securing the system and enabling governance.
