Our summer internships provide ambitious undergraduates the chance to gain real-world experience in their field of study. We offer challenging, professional opportunities with a global corporation, where interns learn from and collaborate with Donaldson employees. Internships take place at our world headquarters in Bloomington, MN, over a 10–12 week period during summer 2026.

You’ll collaborate with a dynamic, cross-functional team of data scientists, data engineers, sales leaders, and product managers to drive AI-powered transformations across our commercial and product operations. This internship offers the opportunity to work on high-impact initiatives that streamline workflows, uncover insights, and accelerate decision-making. Ideal candidates are curious, resourceful, and energized by solving complex challenges in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where innovation directly fuels business performance.

Role Responsibilities:

• Investigating solutions to product or process challenges using AI techniques

• Working with business stakeholders to understand needs

• Developing, evaluating and documenting AI models

• Presenting technical findings to peers and leadership

Minimum Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled undergraduate junior/3rd year in an accredited program pursuing a bachelor’s degree program in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, or a related field

• Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

• Experience with LLMs and Relational Databases

• Python experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with machine learning or statistical modeling

• Familiarity with PySpark

• Working knowledge of developing and deploying AI Agents, AI functions and Model Context Protocol (MCP) clients & servers

• Minimum 3.0 out of 4.0 cumulative GPA

Relocation: This position is not eligible for relocation assistance.

Hourly Pay Range: $21.00-24.00, depending on projected undergraduate graduation date, educational degree in progress and major of study upon time of hire.

This position is overtime eligible as per state and federal regulations.
