Job Duties and Responsibilities

You solve the critical challenge of compliance resistance by transforming data governance from a perceived chore into a rewarding, hyper-visible achievement. By bridging the gap between dense technical policies and everyday user adoption, you ensure that stakeholders at all levels understand the personal and organizational benefits of data quality. Your efforts in managing the Governance Center of Excellence and driving enterprise-wide knowledge sharing are vital to breaking down silos and preparing EchoStar for an AI-driven future.
What Success Looks Like (Objectives)
- Create and distribute high-impact communication materials to announce new governance policies and inspire the data expert network with our progress
- Implement creative gamification strategies that reward metadata management and compliance to drive positive behavioral change
- Design recognition programs like leaderboards or digital badges that turn routine governance tasks into collaborative milestones
- Measure and broadcast governance maturity across business units using standardized frameworks to provide leadership with actionable insights
- Manage the day-to-day logistics of the internal Center of Excellence community, organizing workshops that break down silos and promote innovation
- Develop user-friendly training resources that demystify governance rules for non-technical stakeholders and track adoption metrics to support struggling teams
Skills, Experience and Requirements
Core Skills and Competencies (What you'll bring)
- Proficiency in managing the logistics and hype of large-scale governance events to increase employee engagement and interest
- Ability to distill complex technical or legal policies into resonant content for both engineers and executives
- Mastery of standardized frameworks to objectively measure and report on the readiness and maturity of different business units
- Skill in creating user-friendly guides that explain the specific benefits of governance to non-technical stakeholders
- Track record of increasing adoption rates or training completion through creative incentive programs and recognition strategies
- Familiarity with data stewardship and metadata concepts, with the ability to show how these foundational elements enable agentic AI
- Critical experience executing a governance roadmap communications plan and orchestrating enterprise-wide knowledge sharing to prevent duplicative hurdles
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Information Management, or Communications
- 5 years of experience in internal communications or change management
- Must have experience with:
- Internal communications strategy and execution
- Design and execution of incentive-based recognition programs
- Basic data visualization for reporting maturity and adoption levels

Salary Ranges
Compensation: $72,350.00/Year - $103,400.00/Year

The base pay range shown is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, and competencies; compensation is based on the role's location and is subject to change based on work location.
