Job Description:

ROYAL CANIN ’s MISSION IS TO TRANSFORM EACH CAT AND DOGS HEALTH AND WELL-BEING BY PUSHING THE LIMITS OF NUTRITION AND KNOWLEDGE IN PARTNERSHIP WITH PET PROFESSIONALS.

Driven by our strategic vision to serve 35 million pets and generate $10b NSV by 2030, Royal Canin (RC) stands as a frontrunner in the Pet Nutrition industry. Fueled by our dedication to provide unparalleled experiences for both our customers and associates, we initiated the EOS program in 2023. This initiative blends transformative strategies with extensive digitization efforts, across Supply Chain, Finance, and Sales domains, positioning us at the forefront of industry evolution.

Having proven AI's potential through several successful pilots, we are now structured to scale these initiatives and expand their impact.

The AI & Automation Lead provides the program with hands-on engineering capacity, driving a dual focus: on one hand, identifying and implementing internal AI and automation opportunities (test automation, process automation, and AI-enabled efficiencies) to increase productivity; on the other hand, supporting the building of customer-facing use cases to increase business value. This role exists to turn good ideas into adopted, measurable improvements rather than one-off experiments, so the team can deliver more, faster with greater reliability and we create value for our customers.

What will be your Key Responsibilities?

  • Support the development of business cases that enhance the customer experience and ensure value tracking
  • Opportunity identification: Continuously scan the team's ways of working (testing, release management, reporting, recurring manual tasks) to identify automation and AI opportunities, and build business cases (effort saved, risk reduced) for the most promising ones.
  • Test automation: Design, build and maintain automated test suites to increase regression coverage and reduce manual effort ahead of each Run and major release.
  • Process automation: Automate repetitive internal processes (status reporting, environment refreshes, backlog hygiene, documentation) through scripting, low-code automation platforms, freeing the team to focus on higher-value work.
  • AI-enabled efficiencies: Pilot and operationalize generative-AI and agentic tools to accelerate internal tasks such as documentation, code/config generation, meeting summarization and knowledge search — within the Responsible AI guardrails.
  • Reusable assets: Package successful automations and prompts as documented, reusable components in the asset library, so they can be replicated across streams and markets rather than rebuilt each time.
  • Value tracking: Define and track success metrics (time saved, error reduction, adoption, business value) for every automation delivered, and report progress.
  • Community & enablement: Act as an automation champion within the program's "AI movement," sharing practical learnings and quick wins through trainings, the newsletter and demos to grow internal AI and automation literacy.

Context and Scope :

  • The role works transversally across streams— its scope is the team's internal ways of working first, and customer- or associate-facing use cases in the future.
  • It operates in close collaboration with the Project Managers and PMO, the streams' Lead and Product Owners and Business Process Owners, the Test Ambassadors community, and the Factory where relevant, to ensure automations fit smoothly into existing delivery and release processes.
  • The role requires comfort working hands-on across Salesforce, scripting and AI tools, and the judgment to apply guardrails proportionate to the risk of each automation, even for internal-only use cases.
  • As the team moves from isolated pilots to a structured practice, the analyst will help shape the standards, templates and reusable assets that make future automation work faster for everyone.

What are we looking for?

  • Master’s degree in IT, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 2 to 4 years of experience in test automation, process/RPA automation or a related quality/engineering role, ideally within a Salesforce or broader SaaS delivery environment.
  • Hands-on experience with test automation tooling, plus basic scripting skills (e.g. Python, JavaScript) for custom automations and integrations.
  • Working knowledge of generative AI and agentic tools (e.g. Copilot-type assistants, Claude, Agentforce, OpenAI-style APIs) and a genuine interest in applying them to everyday productivity problems
  • Familiarity with low-code automation/RPA platforms is a plus.
  • A process-mapping mindset: able to break down a manual task, spot the automatable steps, and judge the effort/value trade-off without over-engineering the solution.
  • Comfortable working in an Agile delivery environment, with the discipline to document, test and hand over automations so they remain maintainable by others.
  • Strong communication skills to explain technical automations simply, build trust with non-technical stakeholders, and turn quick wins into visible team-wide adoption.
  • A pragmatic, curious, improvement-driven mindset — energized by experimenting, measuring impact and scaling what works.
