About the Role:
We're seeking an AI Architect to design and evolve the technical architecture that powers Consensus's AI-driven features. Reporting to the Chief Architect, you'll work embedded with our Intelligence team and collaborate across time zones with a diverse, global team to pioneer AI applications in the demo automation space.
You'll shape the technical vision for AI systems, defining how data flows throughout our system and how AI capabilities integrate throughout our product. Your primary impact comes from the architectural decisions you make, the systems you design, and the patterns you establish, with hands-on work through prototypes and implementation of critical components. We're looking for someone who combines deep AI expertise with strong architectural discipline — someone who can communicate complex ideas through clear diagrams and documentation, and influence the technical direction of our AI initiatives.
What You’ll Do:
● Design and evolve the architecture for AI-driven systems across the Consensus platform
● Define how AI agents, LLM integrations, and intelligence features fit into the broader technical ecosystem
● Architect context engineering solutions - designing how data is structured, organized, and presented to AI systems for optimal understanding and response quality
● Create comprehensive architectural diagrams, technical specifications, and documentation that guide implementation teams
● Build prototypes and proof of concepts (20-40% hands-on) to validate architectural approaches before broader implementation
● Establish patterns, standards, and best practices for AI development that other teams can follow
● Collaborate closely with the AI Engineering Lead and Intelligence team on technical planning and system design
● Evaluate and recommend AI technologies, frameworks, and platforms that align with our architectural vision
● Work with the Chief Architect and broader architecture team to ensure AI systems integrate seamlessly with existing infrastructure
● Identify and prioritize technical debt and architectural improvements across AI systems
● Translate complex architectural concepts into clear, actionable guidance for engineering teams
● Stay at the forefront of AI trends and bring innovative approaches to the organization
What We’re Looking For:
● 8-10+ years of software engineering experience with at least 3-5 years in architecture or principal-level roles
● Proven track record designing and implementing large-scale system architectures, with specific experience in AI/ML systems
● Deep expertise in AI/LLM systems including production experience with agentic frameworks, context engineering, evaluation, prompt engineering, and orchestration patterns.
● Deep understanding of the model landscape (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, Huggingface, etc.)
● Expert proficiency in creating architectural diagrams (system architecture, data flow, sequence diagrams, component diagrams, etc.) and technical specifications
● Strong understanding of context engineering, how to architect data organization, retrieval, and presentation for AI systems to effectively understand and process information
● Experience with writing and deploying Python applications
● Deep knowledge of data architecture including vector databases, embeddings, retrieval systems, and how to structure data for AI consumption
● Solid understanding of distributed systems, microservices, event-driven architectures, and API design
● Experience with cloud architectures (AWS, GCP, Azure, or Oracle) and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes)
● Exceptional written and visual communication skills - ability to convey complex technical concepts through diagrams, documentation, and presentations
● High degree of AI fluency - you should be a power user of AI tools and understand how to leverage AI in your own workflows
● Ability to influence technical direction through expertise and collaboration
● Experience working asynchronously in remote or distributed team environments
● Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills with ability to balance long-term vision with pragmatic near-term decisions
● Translate industry trends into actionable insights for developers and leadership
● Experience with TypeScript/Node.js is a plus

Consensus automatically personalizes the experience and tracks engagement as the prospect shares the demo with other stakeholders in the buying group, bringing the entire buying group to live demos better educated and ready to talk specifics.
