About the role
Hello Heart is seeking a talented and motivated Data Scientist to join our AI team. In this role, you will contribute to the development of our best-in-class conversational heart health agent. You will work on challenging problems, bridging the gap between research and production. Your work will leverage cutting-edge Generative AI and agentic architectures to help solve one of the world's most significant clinical issues: cardiovascular disease. Your contribution will directly impact healthcare practices and enhance the well-being of individuals globally.
Your responsibilities
- You will design and implement conversational flows and logic for our heart health agent, utilizing LLM techniques, RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation), and prompt engineering.
- You will implement and maintain agentic graphs using tools like LangChain and LangGraph, translating clinical requirements into working code.
- You will write clean, scalable, production-grade Python code. You will move beyond notebooks to contribute directly to the production codebase and assist in deployment processes.
- You will utilize monitoring tools (such as LangFuse or LangSmith) to analyze agent performance, identify edge cases, and ensure the safety and accuracy of our model responses.
- You will work closely with other data scientists, product managers, and clinical experts to understand requirements and turn clinical logic into reliable digital insights.
- You will experiment with new GenAI tools and techniques, rapidly prototyping ideas to keep our technology stack current.
Your Skills
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in developing machine learning models and software using Python (Required).
- MSc in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Statistics, Applied Math, or related fields (Required).
- Hands-on experience with Generative AI, specifically working with LLMs, Prompt Engineering, and RAG architectures (Required).
- Experience writing production-quality code (version control, testing, modular design) and the ability to move models from research to deployment.
- Proficiency with PyTorch / TensorFlow and standard deep learning libraries.
- Solid understanding of data mining algorithms and statistical modeling techniques (clustering, classification, regression, decision trees, etc.).
- Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced team environment.
Advantages
- Experience in the healthcare industry or working with clinical data / EMR.
- Experience building applications using frameworks like LangChain or LangGraph.
- Familiarity with monitoring and evaluation tools for LLMs (e.g., LangFuse, LangSmith, or similar).
- Background in Natural Language Processing (NLP) beyond LLMs.
