You’ll be part of an innovative team shaping the future of smart automation.
With a growing number of projects, Dematic is expanding our Belrose team. If you’re a Mechanical Fitter, passionate about automation and emerging technology, this could be a fantastic opportunity to work hands-on with cutting-edge Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs).
In this role, you’ll be involved in assembling, installing, and maintaining AGVs, ensuring they run safely, efficiently, and reliably.
Hours of Work:
- Mon – Thurs: 06:00am – 2:30pm, Fri: 6:00am – 12:00pm
- Occasional weekend or overtime work depending on project deadlines.
WHAT YOU WILL BE WORKING ON
Assembly & Installation: Build and fit mechanical components, ensuring precise alignment and functionality.
Troubleshooting & Repairs: Diagnose and fix faults in drive systems, wheels, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
System Integration: Collaborate with electrical and software teams to synchronize mechanical components with automation systems.
Quality Control: Ensure safety, reliability, and compliance with industry standards.
Reporting & Documentation: Maintain detailed records of maintenance, inspections, and technical feedback.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with engineers and technicians while mentoring junior team members.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Australian Trade Qualification - Certificate III Mechanical Fitter or related field
2-5 years hands-on experience in mechanical fitting, preferably in automation or robotics.
Experience with AGV systems or similar automation technology is advantageous
Proficiency in using mechanical tools, machines, and diagnostic equipment
Knowledge of mechanical systems, robotics, hydraulics, and pneumatics
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical manuals
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
Familiarity with safety procedures and quality control standards in mechanical fitting
Ability to lift heavy components and work in a physically demanding environment
