Amalgamated Sugar Company is looking for an experienced mechanic to handle maintenance and construction on sugarbeet pilers in the Nyssa, OR area. This role is ideal for someone mechanically inclined who enjoys working outdoors. Work is primarily outdoors during spring, summer, and fall, with maintenance tasks in the shop during winter months.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Prioritize safety at all times.
  • Work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Possess basic mechanical skills, knowledge of power tools, welding, steel cutting, and the ability to read measuring devices.
  • Provide your own mechanic’s hand tools for daily use.
  • Communicate clearly in both oral and written form.
  • Routinely climb stairs and ladders.
  • Work in extreme temperatures indoors and outdoors.
  • Read and understand written instructions, including safety procedures, signs, schedules, MSDS, and manufacturing standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness and good housekeeping standards.
  • Be available to work weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Ability to pass Math, Reading, and Bennett Mechanical tests at CSI.
  • Hold a Class A CDL and current DOT Medical Card or obtain both within 6 months of hire.
