Northrop Grumman Space Systems—Missile Defense Integration offers an excellent opportunity for a Sr Principal Agile Product Owner (Planner) (26-272) to join our team of skilled and diverse professionals. Located in Colorado Springs, CO, this role is essential to supporting the U.S. President, the Secretary of Defense, and combatant commanders at the strategic, regional, and operational levels.
This position does not provide relocation assistance and requires on-site work with no remote options.
Position Overview:
The Command, Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program is a crucial component of the Missile Defense System. It is an essential operational system that enables the U.S. president, the secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at the strategic, regional, and operational levels to systematically plan ballistic missile defense operations, monitor the battle, and actively control networked sensors and weapon systems to meet global and regional mission objectives. C2BMC provides layered missile defense capabilities that enable a well-coordinated response to threats across all ranges and flight phases. It acts as a force multiplier by connecting, integrating, and synchronizing autonomous sensor and weapon systems and operations, both regionally and worldwide, to enhance performance. C2BMC is vital for all ground and flight tests that verify and demonstrate the current and future capabilities of missile defense systems.
The candidate will serve as the Product Owner for the C2BMC Planner Product Team on the Regional Applications Agile Release Train (RA ART). The candidate will be responsible for driving value delivery for the Planner application, a key component of a complex missile defense command-and-control system.
Essential Functions:
Provide overall leadership for the Planner Product team within an Agile Development program
Coordinate and oversee stakeholder requirements to ensure the regular delivery of value to the customer
Coordinate and prioritize Planner needs to support multiple Task Orders and products across different phases of development
Contribute to the overall C2BMC Program Roadmap
Assess progress and report status to RA and Program Leadership
Interface with the customer Planner Program Office
Collaborate with other Product Teams and ARTs to plan and execute C2BMC releases
Interface with the Planner Support Cell, Training, Platform & Infrastructure, and Technical Leadership Teams, and communicate priorities to the Product Team
Support the preparation and presentation of briefings and demonstrations to the customer and other stakeholders
Support C2BMC CAMs with EVMS baseline, management, and reporting
Assist in developing proposals
Development of applications for mission or defense planning
Experience in developing and integrating containerized software
Experience working with third-party providers and collaborating with external teams
Experience in managing and creating cross-program roadmaps while tracking dependencies
Experience in business development
Experience interfacing with the warfighter to understand emerging needs
Basic Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field from an accredited university, along with 8 years of experience; or a Master’s degree (preferred) in a related field with 6 years of relevant work experience; or a PhD in a related discipline with 4 years of relevant work experience
Applicants must have a current, active in-scope DoD-issued Secret security clearance at the time of application, which is required to start
Willingness to travel 10% of the time for business needs
Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills, the ability to work independently, and flexibility to adapt in a highly dynamic environment
Proven leadership experience in full life cycle development of large, integrated DoD systems, including requirements development and interpretation, design, implementation, testing, fielding, and maintenance
Candidate must have proven experience as a Product Manager or Product Owner
Must have proven experience in identifying customer needs and prioritizing their requirements
Experience and understanding of Earned Value Management within a software development environment
Knowledge of common software development and management tools, including Maven, Git/GitLab, Nexus, and Eclipse
Experience in Agile development methodologies
Understanding standard systems engineering design artifacts, including Use Cases, Requirements, and SysML diagrams
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong familiarity with Missile Defense concepts, Battle Management and Command and Control (BM/C2) systems, mission or defense planning, modeling and simulation, defense communications systems, and the BMDS is highly preferred
Effective team management and leadership are valued in an Agile environment.
Experience with DoD integration procedures, Agile and DevOps/DevSecOps approaches, and automated testing tools
Development of command and control system applications
Understanding Software Integration and Formal Testing
Knowledge of implementing Cybersecurity/RMF requirements
Willingness and flexibility to handle unexpected tasks
SAFe Product Manager/Product Owner (PM/PO) certification is strongly desired
Demonstrated experience in stakeholder management within a large, complex Development program

Primary Level Salary Range: $129,300.00 - $193,900.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
