As an Agile Practitioner 2 within Optum Technology (supporting UHC Technology Provider), you will act as an Execution Lead closely partnering with the Product Manager and IT Delivery Owner to guide an Agile Release Train (ART). In this role, you will establish program-level cadence, align cross-functional dependencies, and actively manage program deliverables, risks, and quality. Additionally, you will drive continuous delivery innovation by designing, developing, and deploying AI-powered solutions and automations into software delivery processes. Working cross-functionally across strategy, methodology, and execution, you will play a key role in empowering provider technology teams and advancing healthcare technology solutions.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Act as Execution Lead, closely partnering with the Product Manager and IT Delivery Owner to guide one Agile Release Train (ART)
  • Establish program-level cadence and drive program-level ceremonies (e.g., PI Planning, Product Management Council, Scrum of Scrums, Release Train Retrospectives, HIP Sprint)
  • Design, develop, and deploy AI-powered solutions and automations to address complex delivery challenges, streamline program workflows, and optimize release train performance with emphasis on responsible AI use
  • Work with other program leaders to drive the definition and refinement of the program backlog, ensuring cross-value stream coordination and collaboration
  • Maintain metrics that provide visibility to stakeholders on program-level plans, progress, delivery quality, and performance
  • Facilitate alignment of dependencies between the program team and third parties, release managers, or between the team and other Scrum Teams
  • Evaluate emerging technology and AI trends to inform solution design, process optimization, and strategic delivery innovation
  • Work cross-functionally to align strategy, methodology, and execution while actively managing program scope, budget, risks, issues, deliverables, and schedule of individual program tasks

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree OR equivalent experience of 4 years in lieu of degree
  • 3+ years of experience in an Agile Delivery Lead, Release Train Engineer, or Scrum Master role guiding program-level delivery or Agile Release Trains (ARTs)
  • 3+ years of experience facilitating program-level ceremonies such as PI Planning, Scrum of Scrums, and Release Train Retrospectives
  • 3+ years of experience managing program scope, schedule, budget, and alignment across complex enterprise engineering teams
  • 2+ years of experience managing program scope, risks, issues, dependencies, and delivery metrics using enterprise tools (e.g., Jira, Jira Align, Azure DevOps)
  • 2+ years of experience partnering with Product Managers and IT Delivery Owners to define and refine program backlogs across cross-functional teams
  • 1+ years of experience designing, building, or deploying AI-powered tools and automations to streamline software delivery workflows

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Agile or SAFe certifications (e.g., SAFe Release Train Engineer (RTE), SAFe Practice Consultant (SPC), Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), or Professional Scrum Master (PSM))
  • Hands-on experience building or integrating machine learning models, generative AI APIs, or automated workflow extensions into program delivery frameworks or CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience in healthcare technology, specifically supporting provider tools, claims, or clinical experience systems
  • Proven track record managing program scope, schedule, budget, and alignment across complex enterprise engineering teams
  • Strong conflict resolution, dependency management, facilitation, and servant-leadership skills

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $91,700 - $163,700 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
