Job Description

Position Overview

The AI Solutions Engineer plays a pivotal role in the IT Strategy function at SUSE. Reporting to the Director of IT Strategy, this role focuses on the development, integration, and enablement layers of the "Agent Factory". Taking over the responsibilities of Developer Experience & Integration, this role will build the actual "digital teammates" and "Utility Agents" that comprise our future workforce.

This role bridges the gap between technical complexity and business utility. You will create "Solution Patterns," document integration standards, and produce the enablement materials necessary to train the business on how to use these new tools. You will work to achieve the collective ambition of having a stable of High-Impact AI Agents live in production by ensuring they are built on standardized, reusable logic.

Responsibilities

Agent Development & Integration

• Responsible for the hands-on building, development, and solutioning of new AI Agents using a variety of AI agent frameworks and platforms (e.g., low-code/no-code platforms, cloud-based AI services, or custom development environments).

• Develop core "Utility Agents" that serve as modular foundations for complex workflows.

• Define and document integration patterns and standards to ensure agents can be "plugged in" to various business workflows.

• Ensure all developed solutions adhere to standardized inputs and outputs to facilitate modular scalability.

Strategic Alignment & Collaboration

• Collaborate with Business stakeholders to "Process Identify" and select pre-vetted modular blocks for new use cases.

• Execute the "AGENT Framework" (Assess, Govern, Engineer, Network, Transform) in the build process of every solution.

• Help transition the organization from bespoke, standalone experiments to an industrialized factory model.

• Facilitate feedback loops between business users and the AI Platform Engineer to improve tooling utility.

• Communicate complex integration concepts to non-technical stakeholders and business process owners.

Technical Experience & Qualifications

• Strong development background with experience in API integration and automation workflows (e.g., Python, JavaScript, REST APIs).

• Hands-on experience with AI agent frameworks, Large Language Models (LLMs), and prompt engineering.

• Strong background on Linux and k8s.

• Experience with N8N, Google Gemini Enterprise, or similar agentic platforms is highly desirable.

• Knowledge of Vector Databases, RAG architectures & LLM Evaluation frameworks is a plus.

• Experience in creating technical documentation, training materials, or knowledge bases.

• Ability to think in "modular" terms—building reusable components rather than single-purpose scripts.

• Strong interpersonal skills to train and enable business users ("M-Shaped Engineers" with skills in understanding business (acumen) plus high technical sufficiency).

• Flexibility to adapt to a fast-paced "Start-Up" culture within the IT Strategy team.

• Problem-solving mindset focused on removing friction and "toil" from business processes.
