The Harker School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Afternoon Enrichment Specialist to join our Middle School Enrichment and Supervision Team for the 2026–2027 academic school year.

This is a part-time position for the 2026–2027 academic school year. The anticipated work schedule is Monday through Friday, approximately 1:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., with a minimum of 25 hours per week. Hours may vary based on departmental needs.

The successful candidate is expected to work all scheduled school days through the end of the academic year on June 3, 2027.

Please note: This position is not eligible for benefits.

Qualifications
  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • Have current certification in both first aid and CPR, if not, will attend class(s) provided by Harker
  • Prior experience working with children is preferred.

  • Lead and support after-school staff in planning engaging activities, events, and student experiences.
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for students during lunch and after-school programs.
  • Supporting staff with design and creative activities that encourage growth, connection, and fun.
  • Build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues through strong communication.
  • Serve as a dependable adult role model who leads with energy, professionalism, and school spirit.
  • Support student supervision, dismissal procedures, shuttle coordination, and campus safety.
  • Participate in training and professional development focused on adolescent growth and engagement.
  • Follow safety procedures and maintain accurate documentation and reporting.

  • Physically able to lift, carry, or hold items weighing 10 pounds or more

     

Working Conditions

No hazardous or unpleasant working conditions.  Climate elements must be withstood (IE wearing sunscreen on warm days), as well as prolonged standing.

Compensation:

Pay for this position is determined according to The Harker School's established pay scale and is based on relevant education and experience, as evaluated by the Human Resources Department. The posted pay range reflects the full pay scale for this position. While the maximum rate is included for transparency, most new hires can expect to fall within the lower to middle portion of the pay scale based on their qualifications and experience.

Skills Required

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Current first aid certification, or willingness to attend certification classes provided by Harker.
  • Current CPR certification, or willingness to attend certification classes provided by Harker.
  • Prior experience working with children.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English with staff, parents, and children.
  • Ability to supervise students, assess behavior, enforce safety regulations, and apply behavior-management techniques.
  • Physical and emotional ability to respond to first aid and emergency situations.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, work in varied weather conditions, and lift, carry, or hold items weighing 10 pounds or more.
