Job Description

Montessori Academy of Broward (MAB) provides a child-centered, developmentally focused education from infancy through 8th grade, nurturing each student’s physical, emotional, social, and cognitive growth. Purpose of the role   

The Aftercare Teacher will supervise students in grades K–5 during our after-school program, help maintain a safe and positive environment, and support students with homework completion, enrichment activities, and recreation. 

 

ISP Key Responsibilities 

  • Supervise and engage students during aftercare hours 

  • Assist students with homework and academic support 

  • Facilitate structured games, activities, and enrichment opportunities 

  • Maintain a safe, organized, and positive environment 

  • Monitor student behavior and reinforce school expectations 

  • Communicate professionally with parents and staff 

  • Ensure accurate student sign-out procedures are followed 

  • Support dismissal and transition routines as needed 

Skills, Qualifications and Experience 

  •  Experience working with elementary-aged children preferred 

  • Must be 18 years-old and be a high school graduate.  

  • Strong classroom management and communication skills 

  • Ability to work collaboratively with school staff and families 

  • Positive attitude, reliability, and professionalism 

Physical Requirements: The usual and customary methods of performing the job’s functions require the following physical demands: some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling.
