We are hiring an Admin Assistant/ Afternoon Extended Day Coordinator for our Guidepost Montessori school at North Scottsdale!
At Guidepost Montessori, our Extended Day team creates a calm and joyful end to each child's day. This role is perfect for someone who loves working with children ages 0–6 and is looking to gain experience in an admin position!
Your Impact
As an Admin Assistant/ Extended Day Coordinator, you’ll support our daily school operations as well has plan and implement activities for our afternoon program for children ages 0-6. You'll help create a peaceful, engaging environment where children can unwind, explore, create and connect at the end of the day.
You'll provide administrative support to the Head of School and Assistant Head of School throughout the school day.
You'll also play a key role during pick-up, helping create a warm, welcoming experience for families and ensuring each child's day ends in a calm, connected way.
You'll receive prep time each day to ensure you are able to plan engaging activities for the children. You'll help maintain a consistent routine, and contribute ideas to make the program enriching and enjoyable for children.
What You’ll Do
- Support the school leadership team with administrative tasks
- Answer phones and greet families and visitors
- Assist with supply checks and ordering of school supplies
- Support with classroom coverage if needed
- Coordinate activities and staffing for the extended day program across the school
- Support a calm, safe, and engaging after-school environment
- Facilitate a mix of structured and open-ended activities
- Prepare materials and maintain an orderly space
- Supervise and engage with children in a warm, respectful way
- Welcome and engage with families at pick-up, ensuring a smooth transition home and sharing relevant updates
- Partner with the school team to ensure a smooth transition from the school day to extended care
- Contribute ideas and feedback to help strengthen the extended day experience
What We’re Looking For
- Experience working with young children in a school, childcare, or camp setting
- A reliable, adaptable, organized, and proactive mindset
- A warm, patient, and engaging presence with children and families
- Ability to take initiative while also collaborating closely with a team
- A genuine love for working with young children
- Interest in learning and growing within the Montessori approach (prior Montessori experience is welcome but not required)
