About the Role
In H1 2025 OKR, Dandy is doing something no one has ever done before- produce high quality aesthetic cases at scale by launching and scaling digitized stain & glaze. Dandy has built machines that can automate the stain process, by essentially spraying various shades on the crown at precise positions to create the same output over and over. Dandy’s new internally built shade design software derives how stain shows up on a tooth from the produced bitmaps consumed by the stain machine.
We are looking for a self-starter, critical thinker who is an expert in shade and staining. This person will be responsible for being able to stain & glaze zirconia crowns at the most aesthetic level (posterior and anterior). They should be able to mimic staining our new machines can produce with complex characterizations, gradience and more.
Compensation
$20-30 per hour based on experience
What You'll Do
Adjust stain on cases after machine to better match Rx and/or pictures & pass QC
Self starter, thought leader who can be the eyes on ground by reviewing custom stain sporadically
Communicate identified needs for enhancing digital SOPS & protocols for when outcomes of the staining machine
Take on, and complete, all work when the staining machine is down for maintenance or if a repair is needed
Collaborate with a broader team of digital designers and principal technicians to develop the most aesthetically stained crowns in industry by building new processes that are tested & validated
Help scale Aesthetic stain department as volume of stain machine increases to 100% by end of year
What We're Looking For
High school diploma or GED equivalent
3+ years of experience in a fast-paced layered, anterior crown & bridge environment
Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
Ability to sit for extended periods of time
Excellent eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity
Robust vision capabilities and attention to detail, including depth perception and color
Deep knowledge across multiple aesthetic materials and finishing techniques, including adding pink porcelain
Passion for tackling problems and breaking them down into smaller, manageable steps
High level of comfort with digital tools and technology
Very high attention to detail and organizational skills
Team player attitude and willingness to help others to help the team exceed expectations
Strong ability to maintain a clean work area and keep equipment, tools, and supplies clean to avoid contamination with foreign material
Natural curiosity and ability to learn new concepts, tools, and workflows quickly
Strong self-motivation, self-direction, and ability to prioritize
Excellent communication and listening skills

Worked in a dental lab, specifically fabricating and finishing fixed restorations
