About The Role

Imagine this you are running advanced simulations that push the limits of aero engine performance. As an Aerothermal Engineer at Destinus, you will focus on executing numerical simulations for our aero engine components and systems. Under the guidance of our senior aerothermal experts, you will perform flow and heat transfer simulations covering compressors, turbines, combustors, intakes and exhaust nozzles within our product and technology development programs. You will also define, participate in and analyse R&D tests ranging from single components and systems to full scale engine.

At Destinus, we are revolutionizing the defense industry with cutting-edge Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs). Our innovative technologies are designed to meet the unique demands of modern defense operations, delivering unparalleled speed, precision, and cost effectiveness. Destinus partners with government agencies and defense organizations worldwide to provide advanced solutions for mission-critical operations, enabling a new era of efficiency and technological superiority. Join us in shaping the future of defense with groundbreaking aerospace innovations.

What You’ll Do

  • Prepare, set-up and execute CFD simulations using our cluster and simulation software
  • Analyze simulation results and make design recommendations for our aero-engine components
  • Analyze test data and compare it to numerical simulation results
  • Contribute to enhancements of our simulation methods
  • Collaborate with other engineering teams (e.g. combustion, mechanical design, stress analysis) to align design goals and evaluate results
  • Participating and presenting in design reviews
  • Write technical reports and specifications

Requirements

What You’ll Need

  • MSc in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering or equivalent
  • 1-3 years of work experience
  • Background in CFD (e.g. master thesis)
  • Experience from CFD simulations of turbomachinery components, preferably Star-CCM+
  • Experience from product development processes is an advantage
  • English language and communication skills (verbal and in writing) on CEFR level C1
  • Results-driven, problem solver and initiative-taker

Who You Are

You are curious, analytical, and driven by solving complex aerothermal challenges. You enjoy turning simulations into real engineering insight and working closely with experienced engineers to push designs further. In a fast moving R&D environment you stay proactive, detail oriented, and hands on, always looking for smarter ways to improve performance and understand how things really work.

Security screening is an integral component of the selection process, ensuring that candidates meet the organization's security standards and safeguarding against potential risks.
