Business Unit Overview:
Since the 1989 launch of the Global Allocation Fund, BlackRock’s Global Allocation Team, which currently manages over $50 billion in assets across its global platform, has delivered equity-like returns with lower levels of risk. The Fund was designed to be a core holding for investors seeking long term growth. It’s flexible, multi-asset mandate and broad investment universe enables its 50+ seasoned management team to invest across asset classes, geographies, currencies and securities.
The team employs a research-intensive approach that combines fundamental, bottom-up security selection within a risk-controlled top-down asset allocation investment process. Strong interaction and knowledge-sharing exists among the BlackRock Global Allocation team, in addition to using BlackRock’s worldwide resources for investment ideas, fundamental analysis, technology, and risk analysis.
Blackrock’s Global Allocation Team is seeking a candidate with deep engineering expertise to provide technical opinions on innovative, emerging technologies in the aerospace and defense sectors, including propulsion and satellite communications and orbital systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Evaluate new technologies by conducting risk and feasibility analyses for new and next-generation applications across propulsion, satellite architecture, and defense technology.
Translate complex technical concepts into actionable investment insights.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate and integrate emerging technologies into existing and future investment opportunities.
Serve as a resource for, and share information with, other investment professionals at BlackRock.
Knowledge/Experience:
Proven experience in aerospace engineering, defense technology, or satellite systems (minimum 7 years).
Master’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering. PhD preferred.
Strong understanding, including of regulatory frameworks, of aerospace and related sectors.
Ability to identify key investment issues and assist more experienced investors with analyzing the technical opportunities and risks in a given deal.
Enthusiastic, proactive self-starter who is internally motivated to evaluate a broad range of opportunities.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Our hybrid work model
BlackRock’s hybrid work model is designed to enable a culture of collaboration and apprenticeship that enriches the experience of our employees, while supporting flexibility for all. Employees are currently required to work at least 4 days in the office per week, with the flexibility to work from home 1 day a week. Some business groups may require more time in the office due to their roles and responsibilities.
