The Advisory Services Manager is a role within the Advisory consulting practice. Optum is seeking an Advisory Services Manager to support the implementation and modernization programs for payer systems and applications.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide project, program and/or workstream management by creating and maintaining key items to manage a consulting engagement such as: project plan, work breakdown structure, capability blueprint, IRAADQ log, decision documents, project org charts, RACI matrix, agenda and meeting materials, budget tracking and forecasting
- Efficiently and appropriately apply both deductive and critical thinking
- Accurately diagnose the issues a client has identified (as well as underlying issues) and formulate solution options with cost / benefit analysis. Options with recommendations are documented in a manner that is presentable to Client
- Build consensus among team members and client stakeholders who play a critical role in the client's ability to successfully implement the identified solutions
- Create and document approach and plan to complete agreed-upon work activities and deliverables
- Plan, orchestrate and lead consulting engagement meetings such as requirement discovery sessions, ongoing workstream meetings, problem solving / solutioning sessions, project team meetings
- Establish optimal communication cadence with stakeholders and demonstrate sufficient business acumen to lead and participate in project meetings and Client presentations
- Contribute ideas for and participate in practice innovations such as enhanced service offerings, playbook development, process improvement, thought leadership, mentoring, business development, etc.
- Achieve annual MBOs (e.g., utilization, role competency, innovation, operational)
- Demonstrate solid relationship management skills and ability to handle challenging interpersonal situations
- Proven ability to take initiative and work with minimal direction in a fast-paced environment
- Ensure client satisfaction by delivering high quality services

Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of external client facing consulting experience
- 5+ years of healthcare Payer operations and / or technology experience in at least one of the following payer domains: claims, enrollment / eligibility, billing, provider
- 5+ Experience documenting consulting deliverables (e.g., documenting requirements, writing features, user stories, test cases, technical specifications / mapping documents
- 3+ years experience creating process flow diagrams
- Experience working with at least one core administration system such as Facets, QNXT, Health Rules Payer, Tapestry
- Experience in both participating in and leading a workstream for a payer project
- Experience working on at least one agile project as a Product Owner or comparable role
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite - Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Visio
- Willingness to travel domestically, up to 25% depending on project requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working on at least one end-to-end payer systems and application implementations or migration project
- Hands-on experience working with Facets
- Experience with any / all of the following applications: MS Project, Smartsheet, Service Now, Jira, Rally
- Experience working on a cloud migration project

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $112,700 to $193,200 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
