Job Descriptions Title: Advisor, Technical - Quality Assurance
This position is responsible for testing, analysis, and internal/external communication to ensure that all agricultural ingredients for the Japanese market comply with internal standards and Japanese regulations and meet the specifications of those materials. This role provides an opportunity to further develop expertise in ingredient release operations while collaborating with both global and local stakeholders. The ideal candidate will leverage their excellent sensory abilities and analytical skills to ensure strict regulatory compliance and drive continuous improvement.

What You’ll Do for Us
- Adjust and execute a series of work related to the quality approval program for OU-procured agricultural ingredients (tea, coffee, juice, dairy, and others).
- Communicate cross-functionally and with suppliers of OU-procured ingredients (both domestic and overseas) for pre-approval of ingredients to meet the timeline and quality specifications, including several monitoring tests (Pesticides, Antibiotics, etc.) for ingredients. (#10,000 lot/year for approval)
- Execute sensory and chemical tests for packaging material tests, including new packages (#120 tests/year for sensory).
- Manage laboratory supplies and instrument maintenance to ensure all the instruments and supplies are validated for the purpose.
- Execute chemical/physical analysis at the request of R&D, Technical, and Bottler teams, and for troubleshooting as an expert analyst, especially for sensory analysis.
- Be qualified as a sensory panel for the evaluation of products and ingredients.
- Take ownership of “Operational Excellence” and be flexible to ensure the work is completed efficiently, adjusting priorities as needed.
- Demonstrate a successful safety ambassador role.

- 新しいパッケージを含む包装材料のセンサリーおよび理化学テストを実行する。(ラボでは年間約120回のセンサリーテストを実施。)
- 実験室の物品や機器のメンテナンスを管理し、すべての機器および物品が目的に適合するように検証する。
- 製品開発部署、テクニカル部署、およびボトラーのチームからのリクエストに基づき、特にセンサリーの専門家として、官能検査をはじめとするテストを実行し、トラブルシューティングを行う。
- センサリー評価のためのパネルとして認定され活動する。
- 「オペレーショナルエクセレンス」に対する責任を持ち、必要に応じて優先順位を調整しながら、効率的に作業を完了する柔軟性を示す。
- 安全を推進するアンバサダーとして行動する。
Qualifications & Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in R&D, quality assurance, or laboratory operations for a leading food or manufacturing company.
- Maintain a continuous learning mindset to stay updated with advancements in the field of ingredient quality management.
- Knowledge of food thermal processes, food processing, disinfectants, and quality management systems such as HACCP and ISO is preferable.
- Experience in factual-based root cause analysis and problem-solving is preferable.
- Be familiar with hazardous chemicals and laboratory safety.
- Able to work independently while demonstrating cooperation, with a strong commitment to maintaining quality.
- Native level of Japanese. Proficient in reading and writing in English, and able to deliver simple presentations.
