General Function: Assists in the oversight of Advisor Solutions policy and procedures, helping to ensure adherence across the Advisor Solutions division. Communicates, trains, and educates regional and operational support teams on policy and procedures. Facilitates the evaluation, design and implementation of oversight structure and identifies gaps and solutions within operational processes and procedures. Collaborates extensively in the design and development of new processes, testing of systems, and creation and maintenance of procedures to support and complete initiatives. Develops subject matter expertise across a wide spectrum of banking activities, products and processes. Performs and executes duties under the responsibility and oversight of Advisor Solutions Governance Team leadership. 

Responsible and accountable for risk by openly exchanging ideas and opinions, elevating concerns, and personally following policies and procedures as defined. Accountable for always doing the right thing for customers and colleagues, and ensures that actions and behaviors drive a positive customer experience. While operating within the Bank's risk appetite, achieves results by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develops new and enhances existing policies and procedures for Advisor Solutions LOB and multiple Operational Support Teams’ policies and procedures as part of strategic review or initiatives.

  • Responsible for planning, developing, writing and editing Advisor Solutions Division policy and procedure documents in a timely and efficient manner and ensuring Advisor Solutions procedures and consistently and uniformly applied within the Advisor Solutions Division.

  • Challenges existing procedures to optimize processes and enhance controls to ensure an appropriate balance of internal controls, compliance efficiency and client experience.

  • Partners with Product Management, ensuring appropriate procedures are designed, implemented and communicated to ease of delivery and servicing of products, as well as compliance with all applicable rules and regulations.

  • Partners with Risk Management, Compliance Risk Management, Business Controls, Bank Protection, and other business partners to ensure policy and procedures support best practices with adequate controls to develop, complete, edit and approve in accordance with Risk Management guidelines.

  • Participates in the development and design of new processes, testing of bank systems, and maintenance and creation of procedures. Facilitates communication and training strategies to support Advisor Solutions and/or Bancorp initiatives to completion. May have ownership of smaller scale projects.

  • Creates and designs regular communications for distribution to Advisor Solutions employees.

  • Partners in the training and communication of the Advisor Solutions Division on operational policies and procedures.

  • Works with Compliance and Audit business partners during process reviews and develops strategies and executes action plan for correcting any identified issues or gaps.

  • Executes the Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) Program for Advisor Solutions. Responsible for ensuring all prospective Advisor Solutions clients and ongoing existing clients that are potentially identified for negative news articles are reviewed and evaluates the risk to the Bank. Engaging with Advisors and Senior Leadership to escalate those deemed a match to Financial Crimes Compliance, Business Controls for risk appetite to onboard or to maintain the client relationship.

  • Reports and manages Self-Identified Issues Management (SIIM) under Advisor Solutions division.  Identifies, reports / escalates, develops and participates in execution of an action plan, to resolve Self-Identified Issues Management (SIIM) under Advisor Solutions division.

  • Serves as a point of contact for communication strategies for Remediations or Incidents impacting Advisor Solutions clients; executes strategy as deemed appropriate.

  • Responsible to develop reporting on a quarterly basis for oversight and monitoring of operational activities. Creates reporting and analyzes data for trends and gaps. Conducts presentation to business partners and national LOB leadership; including any actionable recommendations based on trends.

  • Partner with Education and Communication staff in the creation and inclusion of Advisor Solutions learning topics, including policies, procedures, processes and systems training for Advisor Solutions employees.

  • Collaborates with business partners to develop presentation materials and may present topics on the monthly Banking Operations calls.  Helps determine ongoing training relevant topics and communicate in a timely manner.

  • Serves as a subject matter expert on policies and procedures and serves as primary resource for Fulfillment Center, Product Team, Regions and other Private Bank groups, providing guidance on complex client problem issues and exceptions.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

May include direct reports.

Minimum Knowledge & Skills Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience. 
  • Five years’ prior work experience in fiduciary or banking industry, preferably within a banking line of business.
  • Strong expertise with personal computers, including the Microsoft Office. Banking systems proficiency.
  • Strong presentation and interpersonal communication skills; both oral and written.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and work well under pressure.
  • Possess the ability to influence without authority.
  • Must possess the ability to work with people in a positive professional manner.
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated initiative, a detail orientation, strong analytical, problem solving, strategic thinking and decision-making skills. 
  • Ability to establish as a self-leader, not only in a leadership role, but to be recognized by other divisions and business partners as a leader.
