As Advisor, Product Marketing, this position helps define how Ciena’s electrical and optical high-speed interconnect portfolio is positioned, understood, and adopted across the global market. This is a highly visible opportunity to influence a fast-growing space, working across Product Line Management, Research and Development (R&D), Sales, and Marketing to translate advanced technology into compelling market impact.
How you will make an impact:
• Drive and support global go-to-market initiatives that accelerate adoption and market share growth for Ciena’s high-speed interconnect offerings.
• Develop differentiated portfolio positioning grounded in market, customer, and competitive intelligence.
• Create compelling, audience-specific digital and field marketing content that builds demand and thought leadership.
• Influence mindshare by supporting external communications with partners, media, and industry analysts.
• Collaborate closely with Product Line Management, Marketing, and Sales to ensure alignment with business and corporate objectives.
• Partner with Research and Development (R&D) to ensure technical accuracy and clarity across all marketing materials.
• Support Ciena’s presence at tradeshows, industry forums, and partner or analyst events.
The must haves:
• 7+ years of experience in product marketing, solutions marketing, or related roles within networking, telecommunications, or semiconductor industries.
• Demonstrated expertise in electrical and optical interconnect technologies, including Serializer/Deserializer (SerDes), Electronic Integrated Circuits (EIC), Photonic Integrated Circuits (PIC), Digital Signal Processing (DSP), coherent optical components, and coherent Application-Specific Integrated Circuits (ASICs).
• Strong understanding of data center architectures, including scale-up and scale-out applications.
• Proven ability to develop high-quality written content for technical and business audiences, including blogs, white papers, presentations, and case studies.
• Strong presentation, interpersonal, and communication skills across internal and external stakeholders.
• Experience working effectively in cross-functional, globally distributed teams.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, drive initiatives to completion, and operate with minimal supervision.
Nice to haves:
• Experience supporting analyst relations or media engagement in a technology-driven market.
• Familiarity with hyperscale, cloud, or artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure ecosystems.
• Experience supporting industry events, conferences, or large-scale tradeshows.
• Background working closely with hardware engineering or silicon development teams.
• Comfort translating complex technical concepts into clear, market-facing narratives.
Pay Range
The annual pay range for this position, in Canada, is: $101,100.00 - $161,500.00 CAD

Pay ranges at Ciena are designed to accommodate variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and locations, reflecting our diverse products, industries, and lines of business. Non-Sales employees may be eligible for a discretionary incentive bonus, while Sales employees may be eligible for a sales commission.
