The Advisor, Internal Communications & Sustainability helps employees across DP World Canada stay informed, connected and engaged. This role delivers internal communications, leadership messaging and employee events while coordinating community investment, employee volunteering and sustainability reporting.
Working with DP World Canada leaders, operational teams and regional and global partners, the Advisor turns business priorities and sustainability initiatives into clear communications and well-coordinated programs.
This role is well suited to a proactive, self-directed professional who takes ownership, identifies opportunities and independently moves initiatives from idea through execution.
Key Responsibilities
Partner with leaders, HR, operations and regional teams to develop and deliver effective internal communications.
Create clear, engaging content, including newsletters, leadership updates, presentations and event materials.
Manage internal communication channels and the editorial calendar, ensuring content is timely, accurate and aligned with DP World’s brand.
Coordinate employee events, including town halls, leadership meetings, safety days and recognition activities.
Support sensitive and urgent employee communications and use engagement data to improve communication effectiveness.
Coordinate community partnerships, donations, employee volunteering and other sustainability initiatives.
Administer the Sustainability Committee and track decisions, actions, spending and approved commitments.
Collect and submit sustainability and community investment data, working with regional and global teams to meet reporting requirements.
Promote DP World’s sustainability commitments and community impact through employee communications and storytelling.
Qualifications and Experience
Degree or diploma in communications, public relations, journalism or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
5+ years of experience in internal communications, ideally within a corporate or multi-location organization.
Exceptional writing and editing skills, with the ability to make complex information clear and engaging.
Experience advising stakeholders and managing communications projects from planning through execution.
Exposure to community investment, sustainability, corporate social responsibility, employee volunteering or impact reporting is an asset.
Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities independently.
Demonstrated initiative, resourcefulness and sound judgment, with the ability to work autonomously, navigate ambiguity and learn through experience.
Experience working in a multi-location or operational organization is an asset.
Fluent in English. French language skills are an asset.
Ability to travel occasionally to DP World locations and events.
