Job Description Summary:

The Advisor Data Science is responsible for understanding, preparing, processing and analyzing data to generate data driven insights, through the use of predictive analytic tools and models that support operational planning and/or decision making needs. They will utilize their analytical, statistical, and programming skills to collect, analyze, and interpret large data sets. Research and devise innovative statistical models for data analysis. They will be responsible for identifying and recommending new uses for existing data as well as articulating a data acquisition strategy that will bring new organizational insights. Serves as subject matter expert and provides guidance to leaders in data interpretation. Communicate findings to all stakeholders.

Responsibilities And Duties:

Work as the lead data strategist, identifying and integrating new datasets that can be leveraged through our product capabilities and work closely with the engineering team to strategize and execute the development of data products.
Execute machine learning or statistical models methodically to help solve various problems and make a true impact across various domains and industries
Prepares and analyzes data. This can include: locating, profiling, cleansing, extracting, mapping, importing, transforming, validating or modeling.
Applies query, data exploration and transformation, statistical methods and visualization techniques to create business insights or improve data quality.
Devise and utilize algorithms and statistical models to mine big data.
Analyze and interpret statistical data in order to identify significant differences in relationships among sources of information
Examine theories, such as those of probability and inference in order to discover mathematical bases for new or improved methods of obtaining and evaluating numerical data.
Perform data and error analysis to improve models, and clean and validate data for uniformity and accuracy
Provides expertise in modeling, optimization, simulation, and data visualization, and introducing new methods and tools to drive analytic innovation.
Performs validation and testing to confirm the accuracy of the information created.
Interprets results of analyses, identifies trends and issues, and develops recommendations to support business objectives.
Communicates complex information so that it is easy to understand and influences other to take action based on the useful information provided.
Implements and maintains decision support or master data management solutions.
Provides data analytics subject matter expertise and collaborates with other analytic groups across the organization to share best practice and methods.
Coach and mentor less experienced team members and provide technical knowledge regarding tools and resources to successfully complete assigned projects.

Bachelor's Degree (Required)

Additional Job Description:

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE

  • At least 5 years’ experience in one of the following fields: mathematics, statistics, operations research, engineering, economics (3 years’ experience with Master’s degree).
  • Hands-on experience in building advanced statistical or machine learning models to address business problems via GLM/Regression, Random Forest, Boosting, neural networks, segmentation, decision tree, time series, design of experiments and other multivariate analysis using Python, R, SAS.
  • Proficiency with data mining, mathematics, and statistical analysis.
  • Advanced pattern recognition and predictive modeling experience
  • Experience with Excel, PowerPoint, Qlik or Tableau, SQL.
  • Experience using statistical computer languages (R, Python, SAS, etc.) to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets.
  • Knowledge of a variety of machine learning techniques (clustering, decision tree learning, artificial neural networks, etc.) and their real-world advantages/drawbacks.
  • Experience querying databases and using statistical computer languages: R, Python, SAS, SQL, etc.
