The Advisor Consultant is responsible for creating new relationships and managing existing ones with Financial Advisors at Merrill Lynch, Morgan Stanley, UBS, and Raymond James. The goal of the Advisor Consultant is to increase sales and revenue of Neuberger Berman mutual funds, SMAs, ETFs, and alternative investment strategies within the prescribed territory of Philadelphia. This is accomplished through relationship building via individual and group financial advisor meetings, client events, and conferences.
Responsibilities
Lead and develop the Philadelphia territory targeting wirehouses and broker dealers by actively developing relationships with advisors to promote business building ideas and services; maintain and grow assets in territory across mutual funds, SMAs, alternative investment products, and ETFs
Develop and implement a business plan for the territory using activity-oriented goal objectives to guide day-to-day priorities and track progress against goals; make prospecting calls, create qualifying lists, and provide on-going service to existing and new clients
Maintain a high level of expertise related to capital markets, the broader investment management industry, and marketplace developments
Coordinate all prospect meetings, final presentations, RFP activities and any other sales support activities related to the sales opportunity pipeline in concert with the Client Advisory Team
Exhibit a strong business acumen and executive sales presence to influence decision-makers.
Maintain all activity information in Neuberger Berman CRM database
Work with internal partners, including the Client Advisory Team, Alternative Specialists, ETF Strategists, and other members of distribution, legal, compliance, and investments
Maintain knowledge of Neuberger Berman products offered through partner firms
Qualifications
A minimum of 10 years’ experience within the investment management industry; 5+ years of intermediary distribution experience preferred
Experience working with wirehouse, regional, and independent financial advisors
Proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding predetermined key objectives
Strong executive presence, active listening, client preparedness, and presentation skills
Professional characteristics reflecting curiosity, empathy, and enthusiasm, coupled with a solution-based drive to meet and achieve expectations
Ability to develop, prioritize, and implement best practices; ability to manage a territory.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Undergraduate degree required, graduate degree a plus
CIMA, CAIA, or CFA designations a plus
SIE, Series 7, 66 or SIE, 7, 63, 65 licenses

Compensation Details
The salary range for this role is $85,000-$100,000. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in the job posting location. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, business sector, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, market benchmarking data, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs. This job is also eligible for a discretionary bonus and production compensation, which, along with base salary and retirement contributions, is part of our total comprehensive package.
