Job Summary:

As a Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)/Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Advisor, you should demonstrate commitment to delivering distinctive service.  This position is a senior subject matter expert responsible for supporting the execution, enhancement, and ongoing effectiveness of an assigned area within the Bank’s Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) compliance program. This role operates with a high degree of independence and judgment, providing expertise, guidance, and analytical support across one or more core areas of the program, including KYC, suspicious activity reporting, sanctions compliance, business advisory, analytics/technology, quality assurance, and governance.

As an Advisor, you will partner closely with BSA/AML managers and directors, as well as business partners and other risk functions to safeguard the firm and its clients from financial crimes risk and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.


Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide distinctive service to team members, partners, and clients by leveraging subject matter expertise to provide guidance on regulatory requirements, firm policies, or complex case- or process-related questions within assigned BSA/AML and OFAC program area.
  • Execute and support day-to-day compliance activities by conducting client reviews, investigations, quality control, reporting, or program processes in accordance with the firm’s established standards, procedures, and timelines.
  • Analyze and assess financial crimes risk by identifying trends, anomalies, or potential issues within the firm’s transaction and customer risk monitoring, sanctions screening, or other BSA/AML program components.
  • Support program enhancements and initiatives, including process improvements, control development, documentation updates, testing, and implementation of new tools or regulatory requirements.
  • Partner with cross-functional team members (e.g., business partners, operations, technology, risk) to ensure effective execution of compliance controls in alignment with business processes.
  • Assist in preparation for audits and regulatory exams, including gathering documentation, responding to inquiries, and supporting remediation efforts.
  • Contribute to issue identification and resolution, including root cause analysis, corrective action development, and tracking of remediation activities.
  • Support governance and reporting activities, including preparation of metrics, dashboards, and summaries for management review.
  • Maintain current knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, guidance, enforcement trends, and emerging financial crime risks.
  • Assist in training and knowledge sharing, including supporting onboarding and mentoring of less experienced team members.
  • Assist other team members as needed to ensure effective delivery of BSA/AML program objectives.
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES SPECIFIC TO THIS POSTING

  • Lead the development on ongoing production of the enterprise AML/CFT risk assessment, including migration to a new risk assessment platform while preserving data integrity, governance, and sustainable processes.
  • Design and execute a risk assessment methodology that evaluates risks across the firm’s clients /geographies/products/delivery channels and integrates internal AML/CFT metrics and external inputs such as FinCEN National AML/CFT Priorities and other emerging financial crimes risks.
  • Mature and sustain the firm’s AML/CFT risks and controls library, including ongoing evaluation, testing, and refinement of control effectiveness, alignment to identified risks, and alignment with audit, regulatory, and enterprise risk management expectations.

Preferred Qualifications
Minimum Education: Candidates should have a bachelor's degree in business, finance, law, or a related field.

Minimum Experience: A minimum of 10 years of experience in BSA/AML compliance, audit, or risk management within the financial services industry is required.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Strong knowledge of BSA/AML regulations, compliance best practices, and risk assessment methodologies is essential. Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills are necessary. Professional certifications such as CAMS or similar are preferred.
