Advertising & Public Relations Manager

SUMMARY:

Advertising & Public Relations Manager will be responsible for the purchasing and production of advertising material including, but not limited to, all media, sponsors, print house and web developers, in accordance to brand standards. Responsible for managing all public relations initiatives and implements PR campaigns with the goal of enriching the property’s position within the public eye. Represents the BlueWater Resort & Casino at business and community organizations and events.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manages the channel of communication and related elements as it relates to external advertising, to include, but not limited to, broadcast, print, billboards, video content, website, photography and collateral. Negotiates the best price, quality and placement of all advertisements. Keeps up to date with fluctuations in popularity ratings and developments in the industry. Manages and maintains media and production budgets for all advertising activity. Interfaces with all departments to ensure timely development of creative materials for all campaigns and property promotions. Assists in the development of targeted, integrated media plans, maintains media schedules, and manages media expense forecast. Inspects layouts, advertising copy and edit scripts, audio and video, and other promotional material for adherence to specifications. Assists with the design, implementation, maintenance and expansion of the annual mass media and communications plan. Identify main client groups and audiences and determine the best way to reach them. Write press releases and prepares information for the media. Identify, develop and execute communications strategy for key media contacts and customer references. Ability to work with media outlets to publish timely property information, such as press releases, brochures, and other materials. Work with advertisers for timely and useable ad submissions. Create public relations, marketing and promotional materials, both print and electronic. Ensures communication strategy is consistent and reflects the organizations strategic vision. Manages good working relationships with media outlets. Complies with Federal, State and Tribal laws. Works in a safe manner; complies with company and OSHA safety regulations. Performs duties as assigned, within the realm of their job description. All other duties as assigned (non-gaming functions and issued gaming license permitting).

Must be proficient in standard office procedures and equipment. Knowledgeable in Word, Excel and Windows. Ability to work with minimal supervision is a must. Problem solving skills are much needed to clearly present ideas and findings to Supervisor and other departments. Knowledgeable with Apple Mac and Microsoft PC. Organizational skills. Verbal and written communication skills. Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines required.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

High School Diploma or GED equivalent required. Associates Degree or 2 years Casino Industry experience in lieu of. Must have 1 year Management Experience. Experience in Purchasing and Reviewing the Production of Advertising Material. Experience in Managing Public Relations Initiatives. Must be computer literate, have exceptional writing, editing skills, communication skills, both written and verbal, ability to work well with others.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Indoor office environment. This position regularly works indoors but occasionally work outdoors during events. The noise level in the work environment is generally quiet to moderate and may become excessively noisy at times. Position is in a fast-paced environment. Smoke filled environment at times. Will have contact with employees, external agencies and the public.
