Job Description:
The Division of Advancement Talent’s team represents the values of integrity, collaboration, innovation, problem-solving, and authenticity. The Advancement Talent Acquisition Manager reports to the Executive Director of Talent and Resource Management and oversees key HR and related operational functions, with a focus on guiding the Division of Advancement’s recruiting strategy and program for the Advancement organization, which encompasses over 240 FTEs and remote staff across multiple locations.
The Talent Acquisition Manager administers and manages the Division’s recruitment strategy and program by conducting inclusive and equitable searches, identifying networks, creating diverse candidate pools, and assisting in making the best hiring decisions for Advancement’s stakeholders. The position develops and executes customized sourcing and recruiting strategies to generate pipelines of qualified candidates for current and future roles, including exempt and nonexempt positions. The Talent Acquisition Manager collaborates with the Executive Director to drive continuous improvement by monitoring industry trends and developing best practices and recruitment toolkits for hiring managers. This role aligns with University standards and policies by working closely with UHR partners.
This is a hybrid position that is based in Providence, RI, requiring a minimum of 2 days a week in the office.
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent combination of education and experience
Minimum of 4 years of experience in recruitment, human resources, or a related field such as staffing.
Preferred Experience
Experience in a fundraising or development office.
LinkedIn Recruiter certification and/or experience preferred.
Familiarity with AI-powered recruitment tools.
Job Requirements
Ability to develop and implement creative approaches to staffing needs, utilizing multiple platforms, including technology-based solutions.
Ability to design talent acquisition protocols; exhibit techniques in behavioral interviewing and selection processes; and transfer that knowledge to others.
Demonstrated experience in the use and benefit of all aspects of an ATS. Strong HR technology and office computer skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, adept at interacting with senior administration and high-profile alumni. A strong relationship builder who is diplomatic and experienced in designing and implementing complex plans.
Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google suite of tools, experience with web and email technology, experience using databases, and ability to learn new technology quickly.
Ability to present effectively to small and large groups.
Prior experience with sourcing tools such as job boards, social media, or resume databases. Ability to create reports and to analyze to present findings.
Excellent project management skills, including but not limited to the proper launch of searches, working with stakeholders of searches, and collaborating with the Talent Management team. Organized with strong attention to detail.
Knowledge of state and federal employment laws and the ability to apply principles appropriately.
Ability to work in a collaborative team environment, exhibiting listening skills, responsiveness, and reciprocity that contribute to the overall success of the department and division.
High degree of professionalism, ethical sensitivity, and discretion; ability to maintain a commitment to confidentiality.
