POSITION DETAILS
- Status: Salaried Exempt – Full Time
- Department: Advancement
- Reports To: Senior Director of Advancement
- Area: Northwest Georgia/Remote
The Advancement Manager provides overall strategic leadership, development, and direction for Murphy-Harpst's donor CRM and serves as the Vice President of Advancement's day-to-day operations partner. This role owns Bloomerang's structure and strategy, architects move management pipelines and sets the direction that shapes how the Advancement team uses donor data. Just as importantly, the Advancement Manager trains and encourages the team — including the Advancement Services Coordinator and the fundraising directors — in how to use these systems and processes well, coaching staff toward deeper, more personal donor relationships rather than treating the CRM as a data-entry tool. The Advancement Manager directly supervises the Advancement Services Coordinator, providing quality standards, workflow direction, and day-to-day guidance for gift entry, acknowledgment, and data hygiene. The role also coordinates content traffic and scheduling across Murphy-Harpst's marketing and media partners, much of which runs through CRM-triggered donor touchpoints and supports the VP by managing day-to-day Advancement operations and preparing the donor data, reports, and analysis the VP needs for donor relations and Board presentations — operating behind the scenes as the VP's strategic and operational partner, rather than presenting directly to the Board.
QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS
3+ years of experience managing a nonprofit CRM (Bloomerang strongly preferred; DonorPerfect, Raiser's Edge, or similar accepted) at a strategic, not purely administrative, level. Direct hands-on migration experience is not essential — Bloomerang's implementation team will work closely with the Advancement Services Coordinator on the technical migration itself — but strong working knowledge of CRM structure, architecture, and strategy is.
Solid understanding of CRM data architecture, fund/campaign structures, and dashboard-building, with the judgment to design a system that supports effective donor relations rather than just data storage.
Demonstrated experience architecting moves management systems and coaching non-technical staff to use them effectively.
Strong organizational and project-coordination skills — able to keep a multi-step system rollout on track working alongside Bloomerang's implementation team and the Advancement Services Coordinator, without needing to have personally run a prior migration.
