Lead, mentor, and motivate engineering teams responsible for the design and development of FMS Products. Collaborate across Honeywell Aerospace engineering teams and create solutions and systems that meet the evolving needs of our customers. Mentor and inspire engineers to develop innovative products and technologies. Effectively solve complex engineering problems and work with highly talented engineers to deliver exceptional solutions.
Job Expectations:
- Interact with Software lead and Systems Engineers to clarify requirements and work the high-level software design.
- Ensures design adheres to architecture, works with first-time right mindset to meet customer and human factors requirements.
- Identify technical design risks early-on and provide mitigation actions.
- Communicate effectively with functional leads/team members and other stakeholders to arrive a common architecture goal.
- Able to take decisions on Systems design level changes independently and translate them to detailed design documents.
- Troubleshooting and fixing issues arising from Applications/Flight testing.
- Provides hands-on engineering support, mentor and groom engineers on the programs and their technical career path
- Be self-motivated towards developing and demonstrating new product features to support NPI’s and RMU.
- Actively contributes towards growth initiatives by developing high fidelity prototypes that supports next-gen product evolution including Connected strategies, Energy Management etc.
- Conduct trade studies/competitor/IP Analysis, guide associated teams and help in arriving at the optimal decisions. Drive the technical innovation leading to revenue generating patents.
- Own & drive reuse strategies/ product line strategies for the system
- Mentors engineers to develop cross-platform skills, supports technology up-skilling, competitive intelligence analysis etc.
Qualifications
Skills Requirements:
- B.E / B.Tech / M.E / M.Tech in any Engineering stream
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience working various application areas supporting avionics functions. Working experience and knowledge in Flight management Systems product lines is preferred.
- Worked experience end-end with global teams, preferably in Flight management Systems.
- Experience working in design, software development and reviews. Hands on experience on development of Software and Design requirements from Higher level specification.
- Awareness of Software programming/design expertise demonstrated on programs, especially C, C++, Ada, Python
- Expertise working with Aerospace standards, Architecture principles, Coding standards and familiarity with DO178B/C.
- Working knowledge in Configuration management tools like CC/CQ/ACM/DOORS/BitBucket/JIRA etc
- Good awareness of the business and technological opportunities and challenges.
- Must have excellent communication, collaboration and networking skills.
