About the Role
We are seeking an experienced SAP MDG Techno‑Functional Specialist to lead and support Master Data Governance solutions by effectively bridging business requirements with technical implementation. This role focuses on Finance, Business Partner, and Material data models within SAP MDG and plays a critical part in ensuring consistent, well‑governed, and high‑quality master data across the organization. The consultant will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, functional teams (MDG, MM, SD, FICO, PP), architects, and integration teams to design, develop, integrate, migrate, synchronize, and support scalable SAP MDG solutions.
What You Will Do
Techno‑Functional Leadership
- Act as a techno‑functional Subject Matter Expert (SME) for SAP MDG across Finance, Business Partner, and Material domains
- Design, configure, and support MDG data models, UI models, and process models
- Configure and maintain Change Request workflows, validations, derivations, and BRF+ rules
- Translate business requirements into functional designs and system configurations
- Manage the Data Replication Framework (DRF) and downstream system integrations
- Ensure alignment of configuration settings across landscapes (DEV, QA, PROD)
- Support master data governance processes across MM, SD, FICO, and PP
Functional & Configuration Responsibilities
- Configure and enhance MDG Data Models, UI Models, and Process Models
- Implement validations, derivations, workflows, and BRF+ rules
- Manage Data Replication Framework (DRF) and Key Mapping
- Perform Customizing Synchronization between MDG and connected ERP systems
- Ensure configuration consistency across DEV, QA, and PROD environments
- Support master data governance processes across MM, SD, FICO, and PP
Technical & Integration Responsibilities
- Develop custom enhancements using ABAP (OO ABAP, BADIs, Enhancements, Reports)
- Enhance Web Dynpro / FPM‑based MDG applications
- Configure and manage SAP Workflow and BRF+ applications
- Set up and maintain SOA Manager for web service configurations
- Design, publish, and consume SOAP‑based web services
- Configure logical ports and service bindings, and troubleshoot service integrations
- Develop and support interfaces using ALE/IDOC, RFC, BAPI, and Web Services
- Support IDOC enhancements and custom IDOC development
- Support integrations with SAP S/4HANA and SAP ECC
- Optimize ABAP code and troubleshoot performance issues
Data Migration, Mass Upload & Consolidation
- Support master data migration using SAP S/4HANA Migration Cockpit (LTMC)
- Perform data migration using LSMW, BDC, and custom upload programs
- Develop and maintain mass upload templates and utilities
- Support data cleansing, transformation, and validation activities
- Participate in mock loads, reconciliation, and cutover planning
- Support master data consolidation and harmonization initiatives
Testing, Documentation & Support
- Convert functional specifications into technical designs
- Prepare Technical Design Documents (TDDs)
- Perform unit testing and support SIT/UAT cycles
- Provide production support and incident resolution
- Ensure adherence to ABAP development standards
- Participate in system upgrades, releases, and continuous improvements
What You Need to Be Successful
- 7+ years of SAP MDG experience with a strong ABAP development background
- Hands‑on experience with MDG configuration, enhancements, and Customizing Synchronization
- Strong expertise in SAP Workflow, BRF+, and process modeling
- Proven experience with SOA Manager setup, web services configuration, and interface management
- Experience supporting data migration and mass uploads (LTMC, LSMW, BDC)
- Strong integration knowledge using ALE/IDOC, RFC, and Web Services
- Functional understanding of MM, SD, FICO, and PP master data processes
- Experience leading workshops and collaborating with business stakeholders
Bonus Points If You Have
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field
- End‑to‑end SAP MDG implementation experience (Finance, Business Partner, and Material domains)
- Experience with master data consolidation and governance transformation programs
- Agile delivery experience
- Knowledge of Jira and Confluence
