You will be responsible for coordinating cross-functional teams, ensuring project milestones are met, and delivering process improvements that align with business objectives. 

Join the Software Center of Excellence team within Honeywell Aerospace as we design, develop and integrate highly complex software applications that power aviation solutions across multiple industries and use cases. You will be an active and integral member of the SW COE team to achieve the completion of goals. You will also generate innovative solutions in work situations; trying different and novel ways to deal with problems and opportunities.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Project management performance and execution of the software development process improvement
  • Cost, schedule, and milestone development/management
  • Earned Value Management System (EVMS)
  • Risk (threats/opportunities) development and management
  • Internal/External Customer technical communication and relationships
  • Drive improvement initiatives targeting quality, efficiency and productivity in a controlled management approach
  • Technical problem solving/Root cause analysis for process audits and analysis
  • Technical documentation – process flow definition, procedures, and compliance methods

Report to: Director of Engineering

Location: Phoenix, AZ

Work schedule: Hybrid - 3 days onsite, 2 remote after 90 days

Qualifications

YOU MUST HAVE:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics
  • 4+ years of experience with managing software engineering projects in a technical environment 
  • Knowledge of project management principles, structured software engineering development processes and tools, and quality standards
  • Proficiency with project management tools and software such as MS Project or IMS/ABM schedules.
  • Ability to analyze technical data and develop actionable project plans to meet objectives

WE VALUE:

  • Understanding various software development lifecycles (AGILE & Waterfall)
  • Understanding various software development process methods (SEI CMMI/CMM, AGILE / SAFE Agile)
  • Six Sigma or Lean development methodology (Green Belt or Black Belt)
  • Demonstrate the ability to evaluate, document, and improve development processes in a Continues Process Improvement methodology (CPI)
  • Knowledge of software configuration management and change management practices and associated control tools (e.g. GIT/Bitbucket and JIRA)
  • Experience in developing or managing software in certified or regulated safety environments (e.g. DO-178, DL-160, MIL-STD 883)
  • Effectively communicate subtle or complex messages in a diverse team environment

Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status or have the ability to obtain an export authorization.

Skills Required
