We have an opportunity for a Advanced Software Design Engineer to join our Aerospace Engineering team in Brno.
How will your role look like?
You will have an opportunity to guide and oversee airborne system development, allowing you to specialize in an exciting niche within the aerospace engineering field and build up unique subject domain expertise (flight recorders – cockpit voice recorders and flight data recorders), which in past helped to shape and improve safety of air traffic.

In this position you will be given an opportunity to grow your technical skills, interact with multiple different stakeholders (engineering, business teams, suppliers, customers and other partners) In addition to daily technical tasks, you will be encouraged to think out of the box and come up with new ideas and or approaches how to grow our recorders business. From the short/mid term perspective you will grow into Engineering Product owner role, who will have design authority over complete Recorders portfolio.
As a member of the Flight Recorders engineering team you will participate on development of new generation of flight recorders (black boxes). Your main responsibilities will be split between SW development, collecting requirements from stakeholders, addressing and coordinating customer issues resolution.
This is a hybrid role with 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home.
ResponsibilitiesKey Responsibilities
- Development of software for flight recorders using C, C++, and Python
- Participation in all stages of the software development lifecycle, including requirements definition, design, coding, testing, and engineering documentation, in accordance with RTCA DO‑178C
- Design, execution, and evaluation of software tests using simulators to verify data streaming functionality
- Follow, oversee and refine methodologies for SW design, while enhancing coding best practices
- Communicate issues with stakeholders/team and actively contribute to their timely resolution
- Make sure all goals are completed in a satisfactory manner and issues timely communicated
- Support Recorders COE organization in their initiatives, long term strategies and product roadmaps
- The job assignment may vary based on primary managers’ directives
Key Experience & Capabilities
- Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering. Advanced degree preferred and continuous learning expected
- Senior level skills in C, C++, and Python
- Proven track record of working with the operating system such as VxWorks or other real time operating systems
- Hands-on experience with PKI infrastructure, including key management, certificate lifecycle, and trust chains
- Practical knowledge of X.509 digital certificates, authentication, and authorization mechanisms
- Familiarity with RTCA DO‑178C development principles
- Ability to communicate in English language – B2 to C1
