Advanced Engineer Scientist for UOP LLC in Des Plaines, IL
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for leading the identification and incubation of new concepts to support the commercialization of energy efficient technologies in Strategic growth areas like of Sustainable fuels and chemicals, and Carbon capture, utilization and sequestration.
- Other job duties are to conduct all necessary materials and catalysis synthesis work, lab-scale experimental testing, data analysis and reviews.
- Gain a fundamental understanding of catalyst science and how catalyst properties can be optimized to achieve better performance.
- Interface with other UOP departments including other divisions of Research and Development, Pilot Plant Group, Analytical and Advanced Characterization, Business, and Catalyst Manufacturing Plants to ensure robust products for our customers.
- Conduct third-party company assessments to identify opportunities for utilizing external resources to facilitate faster innovation cycles.
- Participate in all departmental safety activities and conduct all work with a high degree of attention to safety.
- Utilize six-sigma tools as necessary to implement project work.
YOU MUST HAVE:
- Qualified applicants must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field and 2 years of experience with Zeolite synthesis experience for Sustainable fuel or Chemical production.
- Must have 2 years of experience with the following skills: Project Management; Catalyst or adsorbent synthesis experience; Ideation and incubation experience; Design of Experiment experience; and Data analysis experience.
- Up to 5% domestic and international travel required.
- Telecommuting permitted 1 day per week.

The annual base salary range for this position is $138,119 - $164,000. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline.
