POSITION SUMMARY: The Advanced Product Quality Planning Coordinator Lead position will be responsible for performing all the standard work that is outlined in the responsibilities for an in-plant APQP position. In addition, the position will provide leadership and guidance to the APQP team through training, mentoring, and standardization. This position will assess the workload of each APQP and help to level the workload between each member of the team, work with the individual managers to help strengthen the overall team, and work with the Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement groups for overall development and optimization of the position.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Perform all essential functions and duties defined for an Advanced Product Quality Planning Coordinator for the plant in which they are located. Please refer to the APQP Coordinator Job description.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the APQP team through training and mentoring.
  • Develop standards of work as needed to ensure APQP Coordinator team is functioning homogenously across all facilities.
  • Assess the workload across the APQP team and allocate work to other resources to level the workload across the team.
  • Review the output from all members of the APQP team to identify gaps in performance and output. Perform training or develop improvement plans to level the competence of the team members.
  • Analyze APQP processes to drive continuous improvement through value assessment. Interface with Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement groups as needed.
  • Develop and maintain standardized metrics to report to the Quality LT, DLT, and ELT on accuracy and performance of the APQP team.
  • Provide APQP performance input to Quality Manager team to assist in closing performance gaps.

Requirements

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

  • Well organized and detailed oriented. Must have the ability to conduct meetings; as well as communicate professionally and legibly through text formats with customers and various levels of the Organization.
  • Ability to provide leadership, training, and mentoring to other members of the APQP team through personal experience and knowledge of the processes.
  • Diploma in Quality control and/or Management preferred.
  • Experience in manufacturing environment with a focus on quality, corrective and preventative action.
  • Experience in an APQP position and knowledge of the APQP duties and processes.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Data Analysis & root cause analysis.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Oracle operations.
  • Ability to read blueprints and determine design requirements form related specification.
  • CDL or ability to obtain a CDL to conduct Road Tests during customer configuration audits.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and understand contractual language to determine important customer-specific data points.
  • General office equipment, telephone, two-way radio, fax, copier, scanner.
  • Basic measurement tools - tape measure, calipers, rule, etc.
