Our Advanced Process Control (APC) software controls more than half of all plants around the world that use APC technology. We are seeking a Senior Technical Support Consultant to join our industry leading APC team. The ideal candidate should have a solid understanding of chemical engineering principles and be able to learn new concepts quickly. The candidate should be an innovative thinker, demonstrate high initiative, have great communication skills and work to the highest ethical standards.

Your Impact

  • Assignments will be varied. Your time will be divided between solving customer technical support problems with our Aspen APC and GDOT software via telephone/web, implementing APC projects, delivering high quality training on our Aspen APC product line and other department projects as needed. 

  • Use industry insights to drive improvement in our Aspen APC Technology. Provide your own ideas and bring customer feedback to the R&D team to make our products better. 

  • Serve as a technical expert and provide technical leadership in several specialized areas within our APC technical support team 

  • Develop and maintain APC training course materials and curriculum to include newly released functionality and the latest trends in Process Control implementation methodology. 

  • Author white paper solution articles for publication to the user community through our support web knowledge base. 

  • Travel to customer sites if required. Travel is usually less than 25% and may occasionally be international. 

  • Ensure customer satisfaction. You will be expected to deliver a high level of customer service in all aspects of the role in order to drive success for our customers. 

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering or equivalent experience.

  • 5 plus years of relevant work experience.

  • Advanced Process Control or Process Engineering experience is required. 

  • Prior experience with Aspen APC software suite is desirable but not mandatory. 

  • Prior experience in the petroleum industry (midstream, downstream), refining or petrochemicals industry related software/consulting is an added advantage. University level projects or relevant experience from other industries may count towards experience. 

  • Hands-on problem-solving skills with a drive to deliver quality work. 

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to work effectively in diverse teams. 

  • Demonstrated ability to convey complex information in a clear and concise manner.
