Position Overview:

Responsibilities include performing routine administrative and clinical responsibilities as clinic medical provider. This position utilizes knowledge of office systems, procedures, clinic and hospital regulations, interdepartmental functions and insurance standards and procedure to facilitate patient services provided in a primary care clinic.

  4. Maintains confidentiality with regard to patient information.

  6. Maintains requirements for applicable licensure and job description.
  7. Seeks to improve skills and abilities through self-education and/or attendance at training programs.
  8. Works directly with department managers to assist with development and instituting of policies and procedures that affect the clinic.
  9. Participates in team meetings and/or committees and special projects.

Requirements

Preferred Education and Experience:

Previous experience as a Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in medically needy and underserved communities.

Licenses/Certificates:

  1. Possession of a valid California license as a Physician Assistant OR Registered Nurse and Certification by the state of California, Board of Registered Nursing, as a Nurse Practitioner;
  2. Furnishing number (for Nurse Practitioners only)
  3. DEA license, unrestricted;
  4. NPI number; 
  5. Possession of/eligible for Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (for Physician Assistants only) OR Possession of/eligible for American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) or American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) Board Certification (for Nurse Practitioners only)
  6. Current BLS Certificate, required.
  7. Current ACLS Certificate, preferred.
  8. Current PALS certificate, preferred.

Skills Required

  • Valid California license as a Physician Assistant OR Registered Nurse with California Board certification as a Nurse Practitioner
  • Furnishing number (for Nurse Practitioners only)
  • Unrestricted DEA license
  • NPI number
  • Possession of or eligibility for National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (for PAs) OR AANP or ANCC board certification (for NPs)
  • Current BLS certificate
