Job Summary:

We're seeking an experienced Instructional Designer to support large-scale enterprise manufacturing learning solutions. This person will own the complete instructional design lifecycle, partnering directly with business stakeholders and subject matter experts to analyze learning needs and design and develop engaging learning solutions that enhance employee performance and support organizational goals.
We are looking for an instructional designer who has independently managed projects from concept through completion, learns new systems quickly, and can lead the design and development process with minimal oversight.
This person will serve as the primary point person between business stakeholders, SMEs, and the training team, taking projects from a high-level request to a finished training solution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the complete instructional design lifecycle using methodologies such as ADDIE, SAM, Agile, etc.
  • Meet directly with stakeholders and subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather business requirements and identify learning needs.
  • Analyze business processes and independently determine the most effective training approach.
  • Design and develop instructor-led (virtual and in-person), eLearning, and blended learning solutions.
  • Create simulations, demonstrations, scenario-based learning, assessments, and interactive exercises.
  • Develop storyboards, scripts, facilitator guides, learner guides, job aids, quick reference materials, and supporting documentation.
  • Maintain project timelines and communicate progress to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure content accuracy and relevance.
  • Learn new applications, business processes, and workflows with minimal direction.
  • Manage multiple instructional design projects simultaneously while balancing priorities and meeting deadlines.
  • Maintain and update learning content to ensure its accuracy and that it meets learner needs and organizational goals.
  • Evaluate effectiveness of training programs (e.g., Kirkpatrick Model) and continuously improve content based on feedback and metrics.
  • Translate technical or complex information into user-friendly learning content.
  • Stay current with industry trends, tools, and best practices in learning and development.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Instructional Design, or related field
  • 5+ years of instructional design experience supporting enterprise organizations
  • Strong working knowledge and practical application of instructional design models (ADDIE, SAM, Agile, etc.)
  • Advanced proficiency with tools such as Articulate Storyline 360, Camtasia, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, and video animation tools (e.g., Vyond)
  • Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS) and online course platforms
  • Knowledge of adult learning theory and methodologies
  • Demonstrated experience independently managing instructional design projects from beginning to end
  • Experience conducting training needs analyses and gathering requirements directly from business stakeholders
  • Proven ability to learn complex systems and technical processes independently
  • Experience designing a variety of learning solutions such as eLearning, instructor-led (virtual and in-person), and blended courses and the development of supporting materials to include videos, job aids, quick reference guides, facilitator and learner guides, process documentation, and performance support materials
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects with minimal supervision
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain instructional design decisions and collaborate across multiple business units
  • Experience measuring the effectiveness of training (e.g., Kirkpatrick Model)
  • Ability to travel (domestically and internationally) as business needs arise

Annual Salary: $85,000 - $115,000
