Join Honeywell Aerospace’s Flight Recorders engineering team and help design, develop, and integrate complex avionics systems. As a member of the Flight Recorders engineering team, you will be part in an organization which is responsible for development of Flight Data Recorders (also known as Black Boxes).
We are looking for an Advanced Hardware Engineer to join our Aerospace Engineering team in Brno and help shape the next generation of flight recorder technology.
What will your role look like?
You will guide and oversee airborne system development while building rare, highly valued expertise in flight recorders, including cockpit voice recorders and flight data recorders. This is an opportunity to specialize in a distinctive area of aerospace engineering and contribute to technologies that have helped shape and improve air-traffic safety.
In this position, you will deepen your technical expertise and collaborate with stakeholders across engineering, business teams, suppliers, customers, and other partners. Alongside your day-to-day technical responsibilities, you will be encouraged to challenge established approaches and develop new ideas that support the growth of our recorders business.
This is a hybrid role with 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home.
ResponsibilitiesKey responsibilities
- Contribute to the development of next-generation flight recorders across the hardware lifecycle:
- requirements development
- Electronic HW Design
- Requirements verification
- Support hardware qualification or delta-qualification of recorders and other accessories (microphones, cockpit control units)
- Interaction with the relevant suppliers and customers
- Propose and drive changes in Electronic HW design to reduce manufacturing cost, improve reliability of the existing products
- Cooperate closely with Systems & Software engineering teams
- Ensure compliance with applicable processes, manage reporting (metrics), process improvement and updating documentations
- Participate in defining long term strategies and products roadmap
- Supporting various activities impacting flight recorders – EUROCAE ED-112 working groups, ARINC sessions
Key skills and qualifications
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or related.
- Proven work experience in the aerospace, automotive or similar industry - hardware systems design experience
- Proven experience/track record in electronics design at analogue, high-speed digital, or power supply domains, signal integrity, MCU integration
- Familiar with electronic hardware development life-cycle including manufacturing
- Strong knowledge of electrical design features is crucial - schematics, signal flow, electrical components, root cause analysis and understanding of technical drawings.
- Very good level of English language (B2 as a minimum).
- Independent and fast learner, strong team player with a proactive mindset.
