As an Advanced Embedded Engineer here at Honeywell, you will drive the design and development of sophisticated, embedded software solutions that power innovative industrial automation technologies. You will leverage your expertise to solve complex technical challenges and contribute to cutting-edge projects that enhance process industry operations and improve safety and productivity.
You will report directly to our Director of Engineering, Center of Excellence group, and you’ll work out of our Lincolnshire, IL location on a Hybrid work schedule.
In this role, you will impact the development of embedded software that integrates seamlessly with hardware components, enabling smarter, safer, and more efficient industrial automation systems for customers worldwide.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Design, develop, and test embedded software solutions for industrial automation applications.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including hardware engineers and systems engineers to ensure seamless integration of software and hardware.
• Investigate and resolve complex technical issues in embedded systems, applying strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of software development processes and methodologies.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to incorporate innovative solutions into projects.
• Optimize system performance, memory usage, and power consumption.
• Review and improve code quality through design reviews, code reviews, and testing practices.
• Develop automated tests and contribute to CI/CD pipelines for embedded systems.
YOU MUST HAVE
• 6+ years of experience in design and development of embedded software solutions.
• Strong expertise in programming languages such as C and C++ with mastery in embedded software development.
• Deep understanding of hardware and software integration in embedded systems.
• Experience with debugging tools and methodologies to troubleshoot complex embedded software issues.
• Knowledge of real-time operating systems and embedded software testing procedures.

The annual base salary range for this position is $118,000.00 - $148,000.00 Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline.
