We have an opportunity for an Advanced Cybersecurity Systems Engineer to join our Aerospace Engineering team in Brno.

What will your role look like?

You will have an opportunity to guide and oversee airborne system development, allowing you to specialize in an exciting niche within the aerospace engineering field and build up unique subject domain expertise (flight recorders – cockpit voice recorders and flight data recorders), which in the past helped to shape and improve safety of air traffic.

In this role, you will be given an opportunity to grow your technical skills, interact with multiple different stakeholders (engineering, business teams, suppliers, customers and other partners) Beyond your daily technical responsibilities, you will be expected to think innovatively and propose new ideas and approaches to strengthen and evolve our cybersecurity capabilities. You will lead and govern cybersecurity engineering activities, define system-level security requirements, and drive the end-to-end cybersecurity process from concept through certification and production readiness.

As a member of the Flight Recorders engineering team, you will participate in the development of new generation of flight recorders (black boxes). Your main responsibilities will be split between cybersecurity process execution, collecting requirements from stakeholders, addressing and coordinating customer issues resolution.

This is a hybrid role with 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participation in several stages of the software development lifecycle, including requirements definition, design, cybersecurity evaluation and engineering documentation, in accordance with RTCA DO‑178C.
  • Own and drive cybersecurity activities across the full SW product lifecycle, ensuring alignment with engineering processes.
  • Define and maintain system-level cybersecurity requirements for both airborne recorders and ground support equipment.
  • Lead cyber risk assessments, threat modeling, and security architecture definition.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant aviation cybersecurity standards (e.g. DO-326A, DO-356A).
  • Oversee security verification & validation activities, including vulnerability assessments.
  • Act as the main cybersecurity focal point for engineering, certification, and external stakeholders.
  • Act as a shared cybersecurity subject matter expert across multiple programs, enabling reuse of best practices and supporting broader aerospace product portfolio beyond flight recorders.
  • Ensure assigned goals and deliverables are completed with high quality and within agreed timelines.
  • Adapt to evolving project needs and management directives.
Qualifications

Key Experience & Capabilities: 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in technical discipline such as Cybersecurity, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Strong understanding of secure system architecture, threat modeling and risk assessment, vulnerability management and secure development lifecycle.
  • Proven work experience in the aerospace, automotive or similar industry - systems design experience or cybersecurity assessment.
  • Experience with requirements development and usage of configuration management tools (e.g. DOORS or DOORS NG).
  • Experience with requirements verification and validation.
  • Understanding of avionics communication protocols (e.g., ARINC) is an advantage
  • Very good level of English language (B2 as a minimum).
  • Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives without direct authority, with strong stakeholder management, communication skills, and ownership mindset. 
  • Independent and fast learner, strong team player with a proactive mindset.

Skills Required
