Develops and executes category plans to drive improvements in supplier quality, total cost effectiveness, supplier service levels, coordination, delivery, pricing, lead-times, payments and risk mitigation. Executes category sourcing strategies including development and implementation of RFIs and RFPs, selection criteria, supplier negotiation and ongoing supplier management. Engages with operations, production, sales and other cross-functional teams to ensure ongoing alignment and support of category management or new product introduction goals and objectives.

Responsibilities
  • Develops and implements strategy for more complex categories across multiple commodities
  • Collaborates with functional and operational leadership to determine prioritized objectives and strategies, assess risks and develop cost / budget objectives.
  • Coordinates / manages category team meetings with R&D, SCM, SQM, Service and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Coordinates category team meetings and ensures shared understanding of category strategies, total cost management, supplier evaluation and negotiation processes and related decision criteria.
  • Researches and evaluates suppliers based on total cost of ownership, including price / cost, service standards, quality standards, reliability and strategic match.
  • Leverages advanced negotiation techniques, awarding business based on a comprehensive assessment of cost, performance and related considerations.
  • Contributes to preparation for and conduct of negotiation of worldwide valid contracts.
  • Manages and maintains spend and volume analytics through the lifecycle of category strategies, conversion and distribution.
  • Partners with suppliers and stakeholders to establish and maintain positive business relationships.
  • Provides insight and recommendations for process and communication improvement between Supply Chain stakeholders.
Qualifications
  • Diploma or equivalent work experience required.
  • Minimum of 6-8 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience in Category Management (or related field).
  • Good business English skills (Written and spoken).
  • Ability to travel up to 25% 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Lean or Continuous Improvement
  • Experience with both Indirect and Direct procurement 


The annual base salary range for this position is $120,000 to $140,000.  Actual compensation will depend on factors such as qualifications, skills, competencies, geographic location, and relevant experience. Certain roles may include additional components beyond base salary, such as incentive opportunities or other forms of variable compensation. Details of any such components will be discussed during the interview process and will be governed by the applicable plan document.
