This position plays a role in supporting color development, material data management, and technical solutions within the plastics and materials science sector. The role involves managing technical requests, maintaining raw material data within systems, and assisting in the preparation, and timely dispatch of color illustrations for customer demonstrations. As part of continuous capability building, the professional in this role will develop advanced expertise in color matching, pigment selection, and the chemical properties of industrial dyes and additives. Furthermore, the position will actively participate in the development of new applications, product launch testing plans, data analysis, and the communication of results, while consistently working to identify technical specifications required for established Avient customers.
ResponsibilitiesEssential Duties & Responsibilities
System & Data Administration: Manage incoming technical requests, create and update formula BOMs, and maintain raw material documentation across systems.
Customer Solutions & Sample Logistics: Identify technical specifications for established Avient customers, prepare precise color illustrations, and support executing packaging and secure outbound dispatch of physical samples.
Product Development & Testing: Actively participate in new application development, execute product launch testing plans, analyze data, and communicate technical results.
Technical Expertise & Archiving: Build advanced capabilities in color matching, pigment properties, and specialized software for colormatch and AI-assisted colormatch , while maintaining the customer color bank and historical records.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, or a related field.
- 1+ year of experience in R&D, product development, or technical service; fresh graduates with relevant internship experience are welcome.
- Strong analytical, testing, and technical report writing skills.
- Basic project management skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
- Good English reading skills with the ability to understand technical documents.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in plastics, polymer materials, color development, or related industries.
- Knowledge of statistical analysis and data interpretation.
- Familiarity with AI tools and digital technologies.
Skills Required
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent experience
- At least 1 year experience in Technology/R&D
- Experience with color matching, pigment selection, and chemical properties of industrial dyes and additives
- Experience managing formula BOMs and raw material documentation in systems
- Familiarity with color match software and AI-assisted color matching tools
