Summary:

The Adult Day Training Supervisor collaborates with the Vocational Services Director and is responsible for planning, organizing, administering, and supervising the activities and functions of the Adult Day Training Department. This position also provides training and supervision to ADT Career Navigator Specialists and Trainers.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversees the day-to-day operations of the Adult Day Training department.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities per the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsible for interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding, developing, and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems; assisting with Leave of Absence coordination when applicable.
  • Ensure staff accurately review documentation to determine each participant’s program eligibility.
  • Oversee staff as they provide case management, counseling, crisis intervention, and training services.
  • Conduct monthly case staffing to ensure ongoing progress on participants’ case plan goals.
  • Engages regularly with program funders to ensure all programming requirements are being met.
  • Coordinates meetings with other departments for potential participant advancement to support employment.
  • Monitors all program authorizations for billing purposes and ensures that all required monthly reports and program plans are completed.
  • Manages records of department services and submits periodic reports on the status of programs.
  • Responsible for the submission of training follow-up, satisfaction survey, and compliance requirements
  • Comply with the agency’s policy and procedures, Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities, SourceAmerica, and APD/Medwaiver standards. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Experience providing ADT services to people with Developmental and Intellectual disabilities.
  • Must have the ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with community partners.
  • Must be flexible, multi-task oriented, and able to prioritize job duties with minimal supervision, including flexibility in work hours.
  • Must always exercise discretion and confidentiality.
  • Must attend required meetings.
  • Must have good written and computer skills necessary to perform job duties.
  • Must follow all safety procedures and correct safety issues, if possible.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and have access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Able to operate a computer and MS Office software, including Word and Excel.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Responds appropriately to supervision.
  • Ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences, and communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand.
  • Demonstrates responsible behavior, initiative, effort, and commitment toward completing assignments efficiently.  Demonstrate problem-solving skills and pay attention to detail.

 

Education and Experience: 

  • Minimum 6-8 years’ experience in the Human Service field. Minimal 3-5 years of supervisory experience. 
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution. Experience may be considered instead of education at the discretion of the Vice President of Mission Services.
  • Experience assessing work experience, educational attainment, transferable skills, aptitudes, abilities, needs, interests, readiness for employment, and barriers to employment is highly desired.
  • Strong counseling and coaching skills. Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Previous experience in human resources, human services, or job development is a plus.
  • Computer literate. Excellent organization, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is highly desirable.

Skills Required
