Job Title:ADT – PU Rigid Molded Specialties (RMS)
Summary:Application Development Technician will execute polyurethane (PU) laboratory work to provide technical support for Momentive PU-RMS segment’s customers. You will have access to a brand-new, world-class PU Application Development Center to perform your duty. The ADT will report to the Application Development Engineer （ADE） and work closely with Sales Manager and Factory QC Engineer. This job will be based in Rayong, Thailand.
Responsibilities Include:
- Work with ADE to plan for technical projects to bring in new business or to support existing customers.
- Conduct laboratory-scale PU foam making, with focus on evaluating Momentive products for Rigid foam, Flexible molded foam, and Specialties foam (footwear).
- Perform PU foam physical properties measurement using various laboratory testing equipment.
- Record all experimental results and observations in an organized laboratory notebook.
- Generate charts, tables, graphs, summaries from the experiments results. Draw conclusions of the technical projects and present it to the team.
- Prepare Momentive products samples to be dispatched to customers.
- Keep record of chemical inventory list (amount, batch number, locations, expiry dates) and perform disposal of expired chemicals.
- Responsible for the continuous operation of the PU lab by sourcing the necessary laboratory consumables & chemicals.
- Coordinate routine lab equipment maintenance & support ADE in procurement of new lab equipment by liaising with local equipment vendor.
- Ensure good laboratory practices by maintaining safe operations at all times, developing standard operating procedure (SOP) for laboratory works, participating in safety trainings, etc.
Qualifications:
The following are required for the role
- Bachelor of Engineering in Polymer Science/ Chemical Engineering / Analytical Science.
- 2-3 years working experience in chemical laboratory settings.
- Systematic, meticulous, and safe in carrying out laboratory work. Good record keeping ability. Able to work with minimum supervision.
- Good command in Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint.
- Fluent in English language, both verbal and written.
- Working experience for Polyurethane related companies (system-house, polyol manufacturer, PU additive supplier, PU foam producer, etc) will be highly preferred.
- Technical knowledge in polyurethane foam, especially for rigid foam, flexible molded foam, and footwear foam.
