About the role

We are looking for an ADR Engineer for part-time hours. Reporting to our ADR Manager, you will work in our recording studios using industry-standard microphones, gear, and software to record actors cast in our shows. Your role includes assessing studio issues, troubleshooting, and collaborating with the lead engineer to complete additional tasks required for episodes. You will work at an audio workstation for extended periods, recording multiple projects weekly.

  • You will work in the studio with voice actors and the voice director to record dialogue.
  • You will ensure sessions run smoothly and efficiently, supporting the director's lead.
  • You will monitor and correct audio issues to maintain quality standards during recording.
  • You will edit dialogue to prepare episodes for mixing.
  • You will communicate project progress via email and shared software systems.
  • You will assist the audio team by documenting and troubleshooting studio equipment and software.

About You

We get excited about candidates, like you, because...

  • 1+ years using Pro Tools audio software with keyboard shortcuts and post-production audio for TV/Film
  • You have a working knowledge of Source Connect and remote recording workflows
  • You are familiar with recording studio hardware: microphones, preamps, mixers, speakers
  • You have basic knowledge of signal flow
  • You are familiar with office communication software: email and can maintain complex spreadsheets
  • You have experience working with Mac OS and Apple computers
  • You have excellent verbal and written communication skill

About the Team

Our ADR Engineering team is responsible for recording, editing, and placing audio files for our English dubs. Our goal is to produce high-quality audio that competes with major players in the digital streaming world. We work with ADR Directors, Re-recording Mixers, Producers, and other team members daily to enhance each genre of anime. As the first step in the audio chain, we strive to simplify all subsequent steps through critical listening, audio theory, and problem-solving skills.

Two in-person days per week. Tuesdays and Thursdays are the company-wide days for ALL team members to be in the office, and individuals may choose to come in more if the please.
