About the Role:Job SummaryThe PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System) Administrator is responsible for managing and maintaining the PACS infrastructure used for storing, retrieving, and distributing medical imaging data at Longstreet Clinic. This role ensures system reliability, compliance with healthcare regulations, and seamless integration with other clinical systems to support patient care.
Minimum Job QualificationsLicensure or other certifications:
Educational Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Health Information Technology, or related field.
Minimum Experience: 3+ years of experience in PACS administration or healthcare IT.

Strong knowledge of DICOM standards, HL7 interfaces, and imaging modalities.
Experience with PACS software platforms and server/database management.
Certification such as CIIP (Certified Imaging Informatics Professional) preferred.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Detail-oriented with a commitment to data integrity and system reliability.
System Administration
Manage and maintain PACS and RIS (Radiology Information System) environments.
Oversee image workflow, archiving, auto-routing, and prefetching.
Perform system troubleshooting and implement software patches and updates.
Monitor system performance and conduct regular audits.
Integration & Collaboration
Coordinate PACS integration with EMR/EHR systems and imaging modalities (CT, MRI, X-ray).
Security & Compliance
Ensure compliance with HIPAA, HL7, DICOM, and other healthcare data standards.
Manage user access, permissions, and data security protocols.
Develop and enforce PACS policies and procedures.
Training & Support
Provide technical support and training to end-users.
Document workflows and system configurations.
Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies.
Collaborate with radiologists, IT staff, and clinical teams to optimize imaging workflows.
Act as liaison with vendors for system upgrades and support.
