Job Description:
Microchip has an opportunity for an entry level Human Resources Administrative Assistant in the Human Resources department at our Fab 4 facility in Gresham, Oregon.
Microchip HR provides high-touch support to Fab 4 employees, and the Human Resources Administrative Assistant is the first point of contact for HR. This position is also responsible for critical selection and onboarding tasks including scheduling interviews, pre-employment testing administration and New Hire Orientation preparation in addition to general administrative duties.
Essential Functions
First point of contact for employees seeking support from Fab 4 HR
Perform onboarding tasks including candidate outreach, scheduling interviews, administering pre-employment testing, and New Hire Orientation preparation
Enter and audit employment data into HRIS (Human Resources Information System)
Create and manage electronic personnel files
Filing and file room maintenance
Run weekly/monthly/quarterly reports
Assist in planning and coordination of Fab 4 employee events
Represent Microchip in the community, including career fairs, high school robotics programming and youth outreach
Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements/Qualifications:
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to consistently maintain a professional demeanor and confidentiality
Professional casual business attire required
Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining strict attention to detail, organization and timeliness
Regular and predictable attendance
Ability to flex scheduled hours to support occasional early morning or evening meetings and events
Proficient in Microsoft Office – Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel
Ability to work fully on site, no remote work
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Associate degree in HR Management, Business, Communication or related discipline
Experience with Workday
Customer service experience
Critical Physical Requirements
Able to lift, push, pull 25 lbs; carry 15 lbs; sit 80%; stand 10%; walk 10%; must be able to perform activities that include stooping, reaching, handling, hearing, talking, seeing, work alone, work around others.
Ability to occasionally work in a confined space (i.e. the file room) for extended periods
