The Role
The Temporary Timekeeper provides essential administrative and payroll support to ensure the smooth operation of the department during a staff leave of absence. This position is expected to provide coverage for approximately four weeks (with possibility of extension) and is responsible for accurate timekeeping, payroll processing, purchasing support, and general office administration. The role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain accurate records while responding to day-to-day operational needs.
Primary Repsonsibilities
- Payroll
- Collect and review timesheets daily; accurately enter payroll data into the Met payroll system.
- Respond to staff inquiries regarding timesheets and paychecks.
- Purchasing
- Process and code department purchase orders and accounts payable submissions.
- Maintain organized purchasing files and records.
- Collaborate with the Production Finance Manager to monitor and track departmental expenditures.
- Administrative Support
- Perform general office duties, including answering telephones, taking messages, and maintaining attendance records.
- Assist the Master Carpenter with crew scheduling.
- Provide additional administrative support and complete other assignments as required.
Skills and Qualifications
- Prior administrative, payroll, or bookkeeping experience preferred.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word).
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for working effectively with staff across the department.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work in office 5 days a week with some flexibilty on hours.
