Description of Work

We are recruiting for an Administrative Specialist I position. The primary purpose of the Administrative Assistant I (Nursing) is to perform clerical and administrative tasks at the unit level on the Geriatric Services Unit (GSU) and the Medical Psych Unit (MPU). The position reports directly to the Clinical Nurse Manager.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences

Salary Range: $39,244.00 - $68,679.00

  • Working knowledge of basic computer software programs, including Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel

  • Strong oral and written communication skills including knowledge of appropriate grammar, sentence structure, and spelling

  • Ability to operate office equipment, including copier, computers, printers, multi-line phone system and fax machines

  • Ability to work well with others in a team environment

  • Management prefers knowledge of filing systems

ADA physical requirements will be discussed during the interview but include the ability to perform lifting up to 50 pounds, kneeling, and walking up and down stairs.

This is a full-time position and eligible for the full State benefits package including health insurance and retirement.  The normal working hours are Monday-Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm; however, flexibility is required to meet hospital needs.
